ESTIMATED EXPENSE.—The exchange of the lines of road stopped for the lines to be opened.

MOTUEKA AND MOTUPIKO DISTRICTS.

To stop up part of a road in the above districts commencing from the division line between Sections numbered respectively, 22 and 56, on the plan of the said districts, and running in a north-easterly direction through Sections numbered respectively 56 and 57, for a distance of about 5200 links, and thence in a northerly direction through Sections numbered respectively 57, 59, 60, 86 and 87, and terminating at the banks of the river Motueka, being a distance of about 13 800 links. The said road proposed to be stopped being 75 links in width, and is shown by brown color on the plan attached to this application.

And to substitute in the lieu thereof, certain roads commencing from the division line between Sections 22 and 56, and running in a north-easterly direction, through Sections 56 and 57, for a distance of about 5400 links, and 75 links in width, and thence in nearly the same direction to the banks of the river Motueka, being a distance of about 1900 links, and 100 links in width. Also a certain other road, commencing from the road last described, and running in a north-westerly direction for a distance of about 5250 links, and 60 links in width, the same forming the division between Sections 57 and 58, and also a certain other road 75 links in width, running in a northerly direction for a distance of 3600 links, through Section 59, and thence in nearly the same direction through Sections 60, 86 and 87, for a distance of 13,800 links, to the banks of the river Motueka. The roads proposed to be opened, are colored pink on the annexed plan.

Also to stop up part of a certain other road in the same district, being the road dividing Sections numbered respectively 80 and 84, from Sections numbered 81 and 85, the said part of the road being about 2000 links in length, and 75 links in width.

And to substitute in the lieu thereof, a certain other road about 2125 links in length and 75 links in width, and running in a northerly direction through Sections numbered 80, and 84. The road proposed to be stopped is colored Brown, and the road proposed to be substituted is colored Pink on the plan annexed.
