PROVINCE OF WESTLAND GAZETTE. 27
- PAROA DISTRICT.
Commencing on the sea coast at the south-west corner of the Greymouth District hereinbefore described; thence easterly along the south boundary of the said district hereinbefore described and Coaldale District to the point of intersection of the A-K line with Block I.; thence southerly along the A-K line to Rata Tree Peak; thence along the Ka' Kawau watershed by a line generally south-west; thence south-west by a straight line down to the point of intersection of the A-C line and New River; thence south to the River Teremakau; thence westerly along the south bank of the River Teremakau to the sea coast; and thence northerly along the sea coast to the point of commencement.
- ARNOLD DISTRICT.
Commencing at Rata Tree Peak; thence northerly along the east boundary of the before-described Paroa District; thence west along the southern boundary of the Coaldale District to the River Arnold; thence southerly along the east bank of the said river to Lake Brunner; thence along the margin of the said lake to the mouth of the Big Hohonu River; thence westerly by a line following generally the watershed between the New River on one side, and the Arnold Creek, Maori Gully, and the Still Water on the outer, to Mount Fox; thence along the watershed to Mount Card; and thence westerly by a straight line to Rata Tree Peak.
- CLIFTON DISTRICT.
Commencing at Rata Tree Peak; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the before-described Arnold District to Lake Brunner, at the mouth of the Big Hohonu River; thence westerly by a line following generally the watershed between the Blackwater River and the New River, crossing the A-T line at the south-east angle of the Pakihi to the River Teremakau, at the point of termination of the eastern boundary of the before-described Paroa District; and thence along the eastern boundary of the said Paroa District to the point of commencement.
- GREENSTONE DISTRICT.
Commencing at the River Teremakau, at the extreme south-west corner of the before-described Clifton District; thence easterly along the south boundary of the said Clifton District to Lake Brunner; thence along the margin of the said lake to the River Arnold; and thence easterly along the south boundary of the Nelson Province to the west margin of Lady Lake; thence by a line running due south to the River Teremakau; and thence westerly along the north bank of the said river to the commencing point.
- WAIMEA DISTRICT.
Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of the Teremakau River; on the Eastward by the Province of Canterbury; on the Southward by the south bank of the Arahura River; and on the Westward by the sea coast.
- KANIERI DISTRICT.
Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of the Arahura River; on the Eastward by the Province of Canterbury; on the Southward by the south bank of the Hokitika River; and on the Westward by the sea coast; exclusive of the Town of Hokitika District, herein next defined.
- TOWN OF HOKITIKA DISTRICT.
Commencing at a point on the high bank of the old bed of the aforesaid river, the said point being 40 chains 40 links west of Trigonometrical Station 31; thence following a line bearing N. 20 degrees 14 minutes E. (magnetic), a distance of 62 chains 65 links; thence westerly at a right angle a distance of 86 chains 40 links to the sea beach, following the said beach southerly to the mouth of the Hokitika River; and from thence returning along the northern bank thereof and the high bank of the old river bed above mentioned to the commencing point. And also all that parcel of land containing 640 acres, more or less, situate on the Hokitika River, West Coast, bounded on the Northward by Reserve 271 in red; on the Westward by the sea; on the East by Section No. 8238, and a line in continuation of the western boundary thereof; and on the Southward by a line at right angles to the last-described boundary, and about 130 chains distant on the average from the reserve above mentioned.
- TOTARA DISTRICT.
Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of the Hokitika River; on the Eastward by the Province of Canterbury; on the Southward by the south bank of Mikonui River; and on the Westward by the sea coast, exclusive of the Town of Ross District, herein next defined.
- TOWN OF ROSS DISTRICT.
Comprising all that piece or parcel of land, containing 200 acres, more or less, situate on the branch of the Totara called Donnelly’s Creek, commencing at a point about 87 chains above its confluence with the Totara, having a frontage of about 50 chains on Donnelly’s Creek, and running back in a rectangular block in a south-westerly direction a distance of about 50 chains, to contain the quantity required.

Bounded on the Northward by the south bank of the Mikonui River; on the Eastward by the Province of Canterbury; on
