PROVINCE OF WESTLAND GAZETTE.

HAAST RIVER.

JOHN MARKS.

  1. The ferry to be worked by boat.
  2. The amount of subsidy to be £50 per annum.
  3. The occupation allowed of twenty-five acres of Ferry Reserve.
  4. Protection allowed on both sides of the river for half a mile each way from the place at which the boat usually starts.
  5. The ferryman to render every assistance to any vessel visiting the port, and to mark off the channel with brush beacons.

SCHEDULE OF CHARGES.

Goods per cwt. ... 0

All Government officers on duty, and persons carrying Her Majesty’s mails under contract, free.


KARANGAROA RIVER.

ARCHIBALD M’BRIDE.

  1. The ferry to be worked by boat.
  2. The amount of subsidy to be £50 per annum.
  3. Occupation allowed of twenty-five acres of Ferry Reserve.
  4. Protection allowed on both sides of the river for half a mile from the place at which the boat usually starts.

WHEREAS by The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868 Amendment Act, 1869, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council, at the time of making any Proclamation bringing The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868 into operation in any Province, or at any time thereafter, to delegate all or any of the powers by The Bridges and Ferries Act, 1868, vested in the Governor, and exercisable by
