Hokitika, May 11, 1869.

It is hereby notified, for general information, that

The Hon. J. A. Bonar
has resigned his seat in the County Council,
for the electoral district of Hokitika.

CONRAD HOOS, Chairman of the
County Council of the County of Westland, do hereby give notice that I have
granted protection to the Hokitika and Grey-
mouth Tramway Company, under the Regula-
tions made by the County Council, and
published in the County of Westland Gazette,
No. 7, of the 24th March, 1869, for their
line of tramway from Hokitika to Stafford
Town, being a distance of about nine miles;
And also that I have authorised the Collection
of the Tolls, specified in the Schedule hereto
annexed, by the said Company, for the period
of one year, from the last day of May, 1869.
Provided that the Government may, should
it be deemed advisable, construct a road which
may cross the line of tramway, or run par-
allel to the same, for a distance of one mile,
without being liable to pay compensation to
the Company. The protection to date from
the first day of May, 1869.

Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this
sixth day of May, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-nine.

WE, the undersigned Commissioners, of
the Waste Lands Board of the County
of Westland, in accordance with the provi-
sions of section 21 of the regulations for the
sale, letting, occupation, and management of
the Waste Lands in the County of Westland,
do hereby notify that Friday, the eighteenth
day of June, in the Land Office, Hokitika, is
fixed as the time and place when a sale of
town, suburban, and rural lands shall take
place.

has been accepted.

to be Gaoler at the Lower Gaol, Hokitika, in
the room of Richard White, transferred to
