HOKITIKA, FRIDAY, MAY 14, 1869.
PROCLAMATION.
In exercise of the powers vested in me on that behalf, under the 13th section of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," I, Conrad Hoos, Chairman of the County Council of the County of Westland, do hereby proclaim that, on and after the date hereof, the Borough of Greymouth shall be divided into three Wards, to be called respectively the East Ward, the Middle Ward, and the West Ward, with the boundaries set forth in the schedule hereto attached.
Given under my hand, at Hokitika, this sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

SCHEDULE.
EAST WARD.
Bounded on the north by Mawhera Quay and river frontage, from Albert Street to the East Town Boundary; on the east by the East Town Boundary; on the south by the South Town Boundary, from its junction with the East Town Boundary, to its junction with the Road and Railway Reserve; on the west by Road and Railway Reserve, Shakespeare Street, thence along a straight line to join Tanui Street, thence along Tanui Street to a straight line from Albert Street (produced), thence along Albert Street to the starting point.
MIDDLE WARD.
Bounded on the north by Richmond and Mawhera Quays, from Johnston Street to Albert Street; on the east by the East Ward; on the south by South Town Boundary, to its junction with Waterwalk, thence along Waterwalk and a straight line to join Sefton Bridge, thence along Boundary Street to its junction with Johnston Street (produced), thence along Johnston Street to the starting point.
WEST WARD.
Bounded on the north by the river frontage and Richmond Quay, from South Spit to Johnston Street; on the east by the Middle Ward; on the west by the ocean beach, from its junction with the Middle Ward, to the starting point on the South Spit.

GEORGE SAMUEL SALE, Esq.,
has resigned his seat in the County Council as a member for the electoral district of Hokitika.

RICHARD REEVES, Esq.,
has been duly elected to serve as a member of the County Council for the electoral district of Hokitika, in the room of George Samuel Sale, Esq., resigned.
