Big Paddock, subject to the following con-
ditions:—

  1. The claim to be surveyed and marked out at the expense of John Fraser and party.

  2. Forty-five men to be constantly employed on the claim. This condition may be temporarily relaxed by the Warden of the District, provided that at no time shall a smaller number than twenty men be kept working on the claim.

  3. That John Fraser and party shall have no right to sell or otherwise dispose of any part of the said claim. This condition not to include the right to sell or otherwise dispose of shares.

  4. In the mode of working the said claim the said John Fraser and party are to comply with the directions of the Warden.

  5. In case any of the above conditions are not complied with, the claim may immediately be declared forfeited, and the claim to be forfeited accordingly.

NOTICE is hereby given that the right to a Lease, bearing date the third day of December, 1867, for mining for coal over five thousand acres of land, situated on the River Grey, seven miles from the mouth, granted by William Sefton Moorhouse, Esq., the then Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, to certain persons associated together under the title of “The Grey River Coal Company,” has been cancelled.

have been declared duly elected as Members of the Totara Road Board in the room of Messrs. Charles Nyulasy, Thomas Lee, and Joseph Grimmond, resigned.

UNDER the provisions of Clause XII. of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” I hereby grant to J. Blackburn and party, Kanieri, a special claim of six acres, in lieu of that of twelve acres, three roods, and twenty perches, granted to the said J. Blackburn and party on the 2nd September, 1868, subject to the following conditions:—

  1. The claim to be surveyed and pegged out at the expense of J. Blackburn and party.

  2. Twenty-five men to be constantly employed on the claim. This condition may be temporarily relaxed at the discretion of the Warden of the District, provided that at no time shall a smaller number of men than thirteen be kept working.

  3. The said J. Blackburn and party shall have no right to sell or otherwise dispose of any part of their claim. This condition is not to include the right to sell or dispose of shares.

  4. In the mode of working, the said J. Blackburn and party to comply with the directions of the Warden.

  5. Any damage done to the buildings on the surveyed sections to be repaired by the said J. Blackburn and party.

  6. The sluicers on the terrace not to be interfered with.

  7. In case any of the above conditions are not complied with, the claim may be declared forfeited.
