REGULATIONS OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH, MADE UNDER THE EIGHTH PART OF THE THIRTEENTH SCHEDULE OF "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867."

That is to say—

Nuisances of Various Kinds.

First. It shall not be lawful to keep any swine within that portion of the Borough of Greymouth commencing at the most western point of Richmond Quay, following the said Quay and Mawhera Quay in an easterly direction to its intersection with the west boundary of section No. 226 (produced); thence in a southerly direction along the north side of Chapel Street to the tidal creek; thence in a south-westerly direction along the west bank of the tidal creek to its mouth; thence westerly in a straight line to the south-east corner of Native Reserve No. 32; thence, following its south and west boundaries, to Lake Erus-moana, and from thence northerly along the bank of the said lake and Martin’s Quay to the commencing point.

Second. It shall not be lawful for any person to empty any privy, or load, carry, or remove or deposit any nightsoil, offal, or other offensive refuse or matter, save between the hours of twelve of the clock at night and four of the clock in the morning, or to deposit the same in any other place than that appointed for the purpose, namely, between high and low-water mark, at a place on the sea beach, ten chains south of the south-west corner of leasehold section number One, and marked by a peg at its northern and southern extremity.

Passed by the Council this twenty-seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

REGULATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH, MADE UNDER THE SECOND SUB-DIVISION OF THE EIGHTH PART OF THE THIRTEENTH SCHEDULE OF "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867."

That is to say—

Private Slaughter-Houses.

Every private slaughter-house within the Borough of Greymouth shall be licensed, and every owner or occupier applying for such license shall pay to the Council the sum of two pounds, and such license shall remain in force for twelve calendar months, and no longer.

Passed by the said Council this twenty-seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.

REGULATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH, MADE UNDER THE THIRD SUB-DIVISION OF THE TENTH PART OF THE THIRTEENTH SCHEDULE OF "THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867."

That is to say—

Boats and Boatmen.

Every boat and boatman plying for hire in that portion of the river Grey adjoining to the boundaries of the said Borough of Greymouth, or at any accustomed wharf, pier, jetty, or quay, or landing-places for boats, adjoining to the boundaries of the said Borough, or within the said Borough, shall be licensed; and any boatman or other person applying for such license shall pay to the Council the sum of twenty shillings, and such license shall remain in force for twelve calendar months, and no longer.

Passed by the said Council this twenty-seventh day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine.
