Schedule 13, of the said Act, " For appointing the hours during which it shall not be lawful to drive into or through the city, or any part thereof, any cattle intended for sale, slaughter, or shipment, or travelling from one part of New Zealand, or of any other Colony, to any other place, &c., &c."

It shall not be lawful to drive into or through any part of the City of Wellington, except after the hour of nine o’clock p.m. and before the hour of eight o’clock a.m. of any day, any cattle intended for sale, slaughter, shipment, or travelling from one part of New Zealand, or any other Colony, to any other place (provided that nothing herein contained shall apply to horses driven in harness, or to oxen in yoke).

No. 5.

A REGULATION made under the authority of Section 4, Part 6, of Schedule 13, of said Act, " For appointing the times and hours during or at which, respectively, any registered building or ground shall be used for the purpose for which it was registered, or shall be closed &c., &c."

Any registered building or ground may be used for the purpose only for which it is registered at any time and during any hours, day or night.

No. 6.

REGULATION made under the authority of Section 8, Sub-division 2, Part 7, of Schedule 13, of said Act, " For prescribing the distance from any adjoining land, or from any building within which it shall not be lawful to make or keep any stack of hay, corn, straw, or other produce, if not placed under roof or cover, and the like where placed under roof or cover, and for prohibiting or restraining the use for such covering of certain inflammable materials."

1. No stack of hay, corn, straw, or other agricultural produce of the class of cereals, shall be stored in the open air at a less distance than sixty-six feet from any building and street line, or from the land of any adjoining owner.

2. No hay, corn in the straw, straw, or other agricultural produce of the class of cereals, shall be stored in the City of Wellington in any building unless the walls of such building be wholly covered with galvanised corrugated iron externally, and the roof either of galvanised corrugated iron or slates, or such building be situated not less than twenty feet from any other building.

3. The foregoing regulation shall not apply to any building used as a stable only, provided its storing capacity shall not exceed 3,000 cubic feet.

4. It shall not be lawful to deposit or allow any accumulation of timber shavings, or to light any fire within the City of Wellington at a less distance than sixty-six feet from any building, saving in some properly constructed fireplace within some building.

No. 7.

A REGULATION made under the authority of Section 1, Sub-division 1, Part 8, of said Act, " For appointing limits within which it shall not be lawful to keep any swine."

It shall not be lawful to keep any swine in the City of Wellington within a less distance than sixty-six feet from any dwelling-house, street, public place, or thoroughfare.

No. 8.

A REGULATION made under the authority of Section 2, Sub-division 1, Part 8, of Schedule 13, of said Act, " For appointing hours for the removal of night soil, offal, filth, rubbish, or other offensive refuse or matter, and a place for the deposit of the same."

1. No person shall empty any privy, or load, carry, remove, or deposit any night soil, offal, filth, rubbish, or other offensive refuse or matter, within the City of Wellington, save between the hours of eleven o’clock p.m., of any day, and six o’clock a.m., of the following day.

2. No person shall deposit any night soil, offal, filth, rubbish, or other offensive refuse or matter, or empty the contents of any privy within the City of Wellington at any place except the Corporation’s manure depot, to be from time to time fixed by the City Council, and advertised in one of the newspapers published in the City of Wellington.

No. 9.

REGULATIONS made under the authority of Section 1, Part 9, of Schedule 13, of said Act, " For making regulations with respect to the time and place of bathing, securing privacy to bathers, and observance of decency."

No person shall bathe off the foreshore of the City of Wellington, unless it be from a properly constructed bathing machine, and with suitable dress, or in enclosed baths constructed to the satisfaction of the City Council.

No. 10.

REGULATIONS made under the authority of Section 48, Sub-division 1, Part 10, of Schedule 13 of said Act, " For appointing the several sums to be paid for licenses for hackney carriages and the Borough stage carriages."

1. For each license for any hackney carriage there shall be paid to the Town Clerk the sum of £1, and for each license for any Borough stage carriage the sum of £2 annually; and such license shall be available only until the next general licensing day, which shall be on the first day of October in each year or the first day thereafter upon which such licenses can be granted.

2. For each license for any driver of any hackney carriage or for any driver or conductor of any Borough stage carriage, there shall be paid to the Town Clerk the sum of one shilling annually, every such license.
