Leasing Educational Reserves.

Wellington, 4th March, 1870.
NOTICE is hereby given that tenders for the lease of each of the following Educational Reserves, will be received at this office on or before noon of Wednesday the 30th day of March, 1870, for a period of fourteen years, subject to the conditions printed in this Gazette.
Turakina 212 acres, proclaimed March 1st 1869.
Rangitikei 214 acres, part of Section No. 81 Agricultural Reserve.
Plans to be seen at Mr. Franklin's Turakina. The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Conditions of Lease for Reserves.
THIS DEED made the
day of one thousand eight hundred and
BETWEEN of the City of Wellington in the Province of Wellington Esquire Superintendent of the said Province of Wellington A.B. of Provincial Secretary and Treasurer and C.D. Provincial Solicitor (hereinafter called the said Lessors) of the one part and E.A. of in the Province of Wellington aforesaid of the other part WITNESSETH that in consideration of the rent hereby reserved and of the tenants conditions and agreements hereinafter expressed and implied and on the tenants or lessees part to be paid observed and performed THEY the said Lessors Do hereby demise and lease into the said E.F. his executors administrators and assigns all that piece or parcel of land situate at in the Province of Wellington aforesaid containing acres or thereabouts being the Educational Reserve numbered on the official plan of
As the same piece or parcel of land is more particularly delineated in plan drawn or endorsed on these presents and thereon colored red TOGETHER with all the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or appertaining To hold the said lands and premises unto the said
E.F. his executors administrators and assigns FOR the term of FOURTEEN YEARS to be computed from the
day of one thousand eight hundred and the said
E.F. his executors administrators or assigns yielding and paying therefor during the said term hereby granted unto the Provincial Treasurer for the time being of the said Province of Wellington the annual rent or sum of sterling payable by equal half-yearly instalments on the day of and the day of in each and every year free and clear of and from deductions of any kind or on any account whatsoever And the said E.F. doth hereby for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns in addition to the covenants to be herein implied under and by virtue of the Conveyancing Ordinance in force in New Zealand covenant with the said Lessors their successors and assigns that he the said E.F. his executors administrators and assigns shall and will during the term hereby granted fence in the hereby demised land with a good and substantial fence not less than four (4) feet six (6) inches in height and so leave the same well and substantially fenced in at the end or sooner determination of the term hereby granted And also shall and will during the said term sow and lay down the said land with English grasses in a husbandlike manner and so leave the same sown and laid down at the end or sooner determination of the said term And also shall not nor will sublet or assign the hereby demised land or any part thereof without the consent in writing of the said Lessors their successors or assigns first obtained Provided always that if the rent hereby reserved or any instalment thereof shall remain in arrear for the space of thirty days next after any or either of the days or times hereinbefore appointed for the payment thereof or in case of the breach or non-performance of any of the covenants conditions or agreements hereinbefore contained or implied on the tenants or lessees part then and in any and every such case and at any time thereafter it shall be lawful for the said Lessors their successors and assigns to re-enter on the hereby demised lands and premises or any part thereof in the name of the whole and determine the estate and interest therein of him the said E.F.
his heirs executors administrators or assigns but without releasing him or them from his or their liability in respect to the non-payment of the rent or the non-observance or non-performance of any of the covenants conditions or agreements hereinbefore on his and their part reserved expressed or implied In witness whereof the said parties have hereunto subscribed their names
Featherston Road Board.

IT has been notified to this office that at a meeting of the ratepayers of the Featherston Road District, held on the 12th instant, the following gentlemen were elected wardens:

" Donald
" Tocker
" Cox
" Cundy
and at a meeting of such wardens, held on the same day, Mr. Bunny was elected Chairman of the Board of Wardens.
