Defining the Porewa School District.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston Esquire Superintendent of
the Province of Wellington in the
Islands of New Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act of the second
Session of the Provincial Council
of Wellington No. 6 intituled “An Act
to promote the establishment of Common
Schools in the Province of Wellington”
it is enacted that for the purposes of the
said Act it should be lawful for the Super-
intendent by Proclamation to divide the
Province into Districts and from time
to time to sub-divide such Districts and
to re-unite any sub-divisions. And also by
Proclamation to declare that the said
Act should come into operation within
such District or sub-division at such time
as he might appoint. And whereas it is
deemed expedient to proclaim that portion
of the Province within the boundaries
hereinafter set forth to be a District for
the purposes of the said Act. Now there-
fore I Isaac Earl Featherston Superinten-
dent of the Province of Wellington in
virtue of the power and authority vested
in me in this behalf do hereby proclaim
and declare that such portion of the said
Province as is comprised within the fol-
lowing boundaries shall form and con-
stitute a District for the purposes of the
said Act to be called “The Porewa
School District” which said District
shall be bounded as follows namely:—

By the Northern boundary of Block
No. XII. to the Porewa Stream thence
Northerly by the said Stream to the
boundary line of the purchased block
thence South-easterly by the said line to
the River Rangitikei thence Southerly by
the said River to the North-east corner of
Block No. VI. thence Westerly by the
boundary of the said Block to the Cliff
line of road and thence North-westerly
and Northerly by the said line of road to
the starting point.

And also that the said Act shall come
into operation within such District on the
day of the date hereof.

Commencing at the North-west corner
of Section No. 75 thence along its Nor-
thern boundary to its North-east corner
thence a line to the South-west corner of
section No. 38 thence along the Northern
boundaries of sections Nos. 35 and 36 to
the North-east corner of section No. 36
thence a line to the South-West corner of
section No. 40 thence a line to the North-
east corner of section No. 34 thence along
the Northern boundary of S. Swan’s ap-
plication of 76 acres and the said Northern
boundary continued till it intersects a
straight line drawn from the North-west
corner of section No. 33 Wai-nui-o-mata
District to the North-east corner of section
No. 76 Lower Hutt thence by the said
line to the said North-west corner of
section No. 38 Wai-nui-o-mata thence a
line to the North-east corner of said section
thence a straight line to a point 80 chains
from and a continuation of the Northern
boundary of J. Waterson’s application of
105 acres thence by the said line and the
