SCHEDULE OF APPROVED APPLICATIONS FOR RUNS IN THE HAWKE'S BAY DISTRICT.

Names of Applicants. Descriptions of Boundaries of Runs. Estimated extent in Acres. Stock to be or already placed on the Run.
James Alexander ...... North and East—the Poporangi or Clova river, from Patakura to the Kereru Bush; South—the boundary Aorangi block, over Matakiti to the confluence of the Taraohoringa-iti-rangi stream with the Laune or Mangaonuku; West—a line from the said confluence about north west to the Whanaukino, thence the Whanaukino river to Patakura. 5,120 acres; grassy plains and fern hills. 500 sheep.
John Tully ............ North—the Tukipo or Avoca river, from its confluence with the Mangopohia, to the west boundary of purchaser; West—the boundary of purchase; East—Mr. Grant's west boundary; South—the Makaretu river, from Mr. Grant's west boundary to west boundary of the purchase. 6400 acres, grassy or scrubby and swampy plains and fern hills.
Thomas Tanner ...... East—the Mangaonuku to the junction of the Mangahoho; South—Waipawa river; West—boundary of additional Hapuku block—To be extended when adjoining land is purchased from the natives. 3,500 acres; grass plains.
Richard J. Duncan ... South—the Alma or Tukituki river; North and East—the Ongaonga river, from its junction with the Alma to the boundary of the last purchased block; West—the west boundary of the last purchased block. 5,000 acres; grass plains. 1,100 sheep.
William Fannin ...... South—the Alma river Ongaonga stream to the western boundary of the purchase; East—the Waipawate river; North—the Kakahuhukeri stream, to the boundary of the purchase. 9,600 acres; grass plains and some fern hills.
Alexander Grant ...... North—the Makaretu, from its junction with the Alma or Tukituki to the bush on the south bank of the Makaretu below Tutaepohu; West—a straight line from the aforesaid bush due north west to the Mangopohia; North—the Mangopohia from the point where the said line strikes it, to the Tukipo or Avoca river; thence, the Avoca river to its junction with the Alma or Tukituki river.

Forest land excepted from the above Runs. The returns of Stock were in most instances made 8 or 10 months ago, since when the Stock have considerably increased.

None of the Applicants have Runs elsewhere in the Province except Messrs. W. B. Rhodes and G. Moore.
