PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Wellington in the Islands of New
Zealand.

WHEREAS by an Act passed by the
Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session I., No. 21,
intituled “An Act to provide for the
making, maintaining, repairing and management of Country Roads within the
Province of Wellington,” it is among
other things enacted that the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington
shall, from time to time as he shall deem
fit, by Proclamation declare the Districts
within which rates upon Land shall be
levied for the making, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the highways
then and thereafter to be made therein,
and the boundaries of such Districts:
Now, Therefore, I, Isaac Earl Featherston, the Superintendent of the said
Province of Wellington, in virtue of the
power and authority in me vested in this
behalf, Do hereby proclaim and declare that the District hereinafter described shall be a District within which
rates upon land shall be levied for the
making, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the highways now and
hereafter to be made therein and for
other the purposes of the Act hereinbefore
referred to and shall be styled the

“WESTERN HUTT DISTRICT.”

And I do also proclaim and declare
the boundaries of such District to be as
follows:—

North—The Stream running into the
Hutt River, through Section No. 51,
Hutt District.
East—The Hutt River.
South—The Southern boundary of Section No. 24, Hutt District, and the Native Reserve for E. Puni, and other

His Honor the Superintendent
has been pleased to appoint
Henry Wiremu Taratoa,
a “Special Constable” for the district
of Otaki. The appointment to date from
the 15th inst.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
the Partnership lately subsisting
between Septimus Langley Worsley and William Wilson, of Wellington, as Merchants, under the firm
of Messrs. Worsley, Wilson, &
Co., is this day dissolved by mutual
consent. Dated this seventh day of
August, 1855.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
Benjamin Buck, Esquire, of the
Hutt, has duly qualified as a Medical
Practitioner, under the Act of the
Provincial Council passed on the 14th
January, 1854, entitled “an Act to establish a Medical Board, and to declare
who shall be deemed a qualified Medical
Practitioner within the Province.”
