Wainui-o-mata road strikes the said bank,
thence along the northern boundary of
the said section 14. Eastward to the
eastern boundary line of the Hutt district, and thence along the said eastern
boundary line of the Hutt District to the
eastern corner of the said section 67,
Hutt district.
And that the land within such district
belonging to aboriginal inhabitants shall
be excepted from the Rate.

maintaining, repairing, and management
of Country Roads, within the Province of
Wellington.”

SIR,—I am directed by His Excellency
the Officer Administering the Government, to inform your Honor, that it appears from the following statement that
the estimated surplus of the General
Revenue for the year ending 30th June,
1855, is £77,433.
Receipts.
Land Fund Receipts ... £100,000
Customs & other Receipts ... 100,000
Total Receipts ... £200,000
Expenditure.
New Zealand Company’s debt ... 25,000
Land Purchases ... 20,000
Surveys, &c. ... 14,557
Civil List ... 16,000
Customs Department ... 10,513
Expenses provided by Appropriation Act ... 36,447
Total Expenditure ... £122,567
To be divided amongst the Provinces ... £77,433
The distribution of this surplus will be
effected out of the current Receipts, and
accordingly the several Treasurers will be
instructed to pay over monthly to the
Provincial Chests, one half of the net
Customs Receipts, and the Commissioners of Crown Lands to pay over one-half of the balance of the Land Fund
Receipts remaining, after deducting the
New Zealand Company’s Debt, and cost
of Surveys, in each Province.
