PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor Isaac Earl Featherston, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Wellington.
WHEREAS by an Act passed in the Provincial Council of the Province of Wellington, Session I. Number 21, entitled "An Act for the making, maintaining, repairing, and management of Country Roads within the Province of Wellington," It is among other things enacted that the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington shall from time to time as he shall deem fit, by Proclamation, declare the Districts within which Rates upon Land shall be levied for the making, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Highways then and thereafter to be made and the Boundaries of such Districts, Now therefore I, Isaac Earl Featherston, the Superintendent of the said Province of Wellington, in virtue of the power and authority in me vested in this behalf Do HEREBY Proclaim and declare that the
WAINUI-O-MATA DISTRICT
shall be a District within which Rates upon Land shall be levied for the making, repair, maintenance, and improvement of the Highways now and hereafter to be made therein, and for other the purposes of the Act hereinbefore referred to.
And that the boundaries of such district shall be as follows:—North, a line drawn due eastward from the eastern corner of section 67, in the Hutt district, to the summit of the Turakirai range. East, the summit of the Turakirai range from the point where the northern boundary strikes it. Southward, to Turakirai head on the sea coast. South, the coast from Turakirai head to Pencarrow head, and west from Pencarrow head along the harbour of Port Nicholson to the mouth of the Waiwetu river, thence along the eastern bank of the Waiwetu river to the point where the
