ROADS AND BRIDGES.

NOTICE

Altering the month for a General Meeting,
and appointing a General Meeting for No.
19 Road District.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, Feb. 5, 1867.

WHEREAS by the 6th clause of the
“Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” it is provided that a General Meeting
of the electors of each District shall
be convened in the month of May in every
year, on such day and at such place as
shall be appointed by the Superintendent.
And whereas by the 49th clause of the
said Ordinance, powers is given to the
Superintendent, with the approval of the
Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter
the month in which General Meetings of
the electors for each District shall be held.
Now therefore, Henry Robert Richmond,
Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of
Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of
the Provincial Council, alter the month
for the holding of General Meetings of the
electors for the 19th Road District from
the month of May to the month of February,
and I hereby appoint that a General Meeting thereof shall be held in this present
month of February, at the house known as
“Wotherspoon’s” in the Urenui Township,
on Thursday the 14th instant, at 5 o’clock
in the afternoon.

Bringing into operation the “Wild Cattle
Ordinance, 1867.”

WHEREAS by the 25th clause of the
“Wild Cattle Ordinance, 1867,” it
is provided that the said Ordinance shall
come into operation from the date of the
proclamation thereof by the Superintendent in the Government Gazette of the
Province.

Now therefore I, Henry Robert Richmond,
Esquire, Superintendent of the
Province of Taranaki, do hereby appoint
that the said recited Ordinance shall come
into operation on the 11th February inst.

NOTICE

Appointing time and place for selections of
land in the Waitara Township by holders
of original Land Orders.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, February 1, 1867.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to
the 2nd section of “The Land Orders
and Scrip Act, (Taranaki), 1866,” that all
holders of original Rural or Suburban
Land Orders issued by the New Zealand
Company or by the Plymouth Company
of New Zealand who desire to exercise the
same in the selection of Town acres in the
Waitara Township must attend personally
or by their duly authorised agents, and
produce such Land Orders to the Commissioner of Crown Lands at the Council
Chamber, New Plymouth, on Wednesday,
the eighth day of May next, at 11 o’clock
in the forenoon.
