NOTICE
Appointing a Public Pound on Allotment
No. 115, Omata District, and fixing scale
of Pound Fees and of Charges for Food.

IN exercise of the authority vested in the
Superintendent by an Ordinance of
the Superintendent and Provincial Council
of Taranaki, intituled “An Ordinance to
authorise and regulate the Impounding of
Cattle, and to provide for the summary
recovery of compensation for damage done
by cattle trespassing,” Sss. 1., No. 8, I
HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Super-
intendent of the Province of Taranaki, do
hereby appoint a Public Pound on rural
allotment No. 115, on the plan of the
Omata District, and I do hereby further
notify that the pound fees taken and
charged at the said pound shall be accord-
ing to the scale published in the Govern-
ment Gazette of the Province, No. 34,
December 21, 1865, and that the charges
made for the sustenance of cattle in the
said pound shall be according to the scale
published in the said Gazette, No. 1,
January 2, 1866.

ROADS AND BRIDGES ORDINANCE,
1858.
NOTICE
Revoking notice constituting First District,
and constituting First and Twentieth Dis-
tricts in lieu thereof.
Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth, June 29, 1867.
WHEREAS by the 2nd clause of the
“Roads and Bridges Ordinance,
1858,” it is provided that it shall be lawful
for the Superintendent amongst other
things, to constitute Districts within which
the provisions of the said Ordinance shall
be in force, and in like manner to revoke
the notice by which any such District shall
have been constituted. Now, therefore, I,
HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Super-
intendent of the Province of Taranaki, in
exercise of the before recited authority, do
hereby, with the approval of the Provincial
Council, revoke the notice dated May 19,
1857, and published in the Government
Gazette of the Province, No. 12, 1857, as
relates to the constitution of the First Road
District, and in lieu thereof I do hereby
constitute the following Districts for the
purposes of the “Roads and Bridges Ordi-
nance, 1858,” namely:—
1ST (OR BELL) ROAD DISTRICT.
That block of land bounded on the north
by the sea beach from a point in a right
line with the eastern boundary of Section
No. 100 on the plan of the Hua and Wai-
wakaiho block to the Waitangioma River,
thence by the said river to its junction
with the Mangoraka River, thence by
the said last named river to the
southern boundary of Section No. 86
on the plan of the said block, thence by
the said boundary to the western boundary,
thence by the western boundary of said
Section and Sections numbers 85, 75, 74,
72, 71, 70, 68, 66, 63, 62, 59, 57, 54, 52,
50, 47, and 45, and the eastern boundary
of Sections 38, 133, and 100, continued in
a right line to the sea beach.
20TH (OR HUA) ROAD DISTRICT.
That block of land bounded on the north
by the sea beach from the Waiwakaiho
River to the western boundary of No. 7
Road District, thence by the said
boundary to the Mangoraka River, thence
by the said river to the survey tie-line
adjoining the 300 acre Educational Reserve
on the map of the Hua and Waiwakaiho
block, thence by the said tie-line to the
Waiwakaiho River, thence by the said
river to the sea beach.

ing the month for General Meetings, and
appointing General Meetings of the 1st,
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th,
10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th,
17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th Districts.

WHEREAS by the 49th clause of the
“Roads and Bridges Ordinance,
1858,” power is given to the Superinten-
dent, with the approval of the Provincial
Council, by notice to be published in the
Government Gazette, to alter the minimum
rate to be imposed in any District; and to
alter the month in which General Meet-
ings of the Electors for each District shall
