NOTICE
Constituting No. 15 District under the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858.”

New Plymouth, April 18, 1866.

WHEREAS by the 2nd clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, amongst other things, to constitute Districts within which the provisions of the said Ordinance shall be in force. Provided that no such notice shall at any time be published without the previous approval of the Provincial Council. Now therefore I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the province of Taranaki, in exercise of the before-recited authority, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, constitute the undermentioned block of land, known as the Oakura district, to be District No. 15, under the provisions of the said-recited Ordinance.

DISTRICT NO. 15.

The block of land bounded on the north by the sea beach from the Timaru river to the western boundary of No. 9 Road District, thence by the said boundary to the western boundary of No. 7 Road District, thence by the said boundary to rural allotment numbered 164 on the plan of the Oakura District, thence on the north by waste lands of the Oakura District to the Katikara river, thence by the last-named river to Road District No. 8, thence by the southern boundary of the said Road District to the Timaru river, and thence by the last-named river to the sea beach aforesaid.

NOTICE
Appointing a Rate for No. 15 District.

WHEREAS by the 13th clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” it is provided that the minimum rate to be imposed in any rural district shall not be less than 6d. per acre. And whereas by the 49th clause of the said Ordinance, power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter the minimum rate or rates to be imposed in one or more districts. Now therefore I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, alter the minimum rate of Six Pence to Three Pence for the undermentioned district:—

Altering the month for a General Meeting, and appointing a General Meeting for No. 15 District.

WHEREAS by the 6th clause of the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” it is provided that a general meeting of the electors for each district shall be convened in the month of May in every year, on such day and at such place as shall be appointed by the Superintendent. And whereas by the 49th clause of the said Ordinance, power is given to the Superintendent, with the approval of the Provincial Council, by notice to be published in the Government Gazette, to alter the month in which general meetings of the electors for each district shall be held. Now therefore I, HENRY ROBERT RICHMOND, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby, with the approval of the Provincial Council, alter the month for the holding of general meetings of the electors for the undermentioned district from the month of May to the month of April, and I hereby appoint that a general meeting shall be held in this present month of April as follows:—

at Jury’s Public House, in the Oakura Township, on Saturday, the 28th day of April, at 12 o’clock.
