IT is notified for general information,
that a Writ for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District having been issued, in accordance with the provisions of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said Writ with a certificate, to the effect that
WILLIAM DEVENISH,
was duly elected on the 5th March, 1866, to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Grey and Bell District, in the place of William Watson, resigned.

that a Writ for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the Town of New Plymouth having been issued in accordance with the provisions of “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand,” the Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said Writ with a certificate, to the effect that
CHARLES BROWN,
was duly elected on the 16th day of April, 1866, to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Town of New Plymouth, in the place of Warwick Weston, resigned.

was duly elected on the 12th day of March, 1866, to serve as Member of the Provincial Council for the Town of New Plymouth, in the place of J. C. Sharland, resigned.

Appointing places for exposing Cattle for public inspection.

New Plymouth, April 18, 1866.
In exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the “Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” I do hereby declare that I have appointed the place below specified to be a place at which Cattle shall be exposed for public inspection in accordance with the provisions of the said Ordinance.
The Stockyard erected on part of Section No. 80, Omata District, belonging to J. Goodwin.
