THE following descriptions of the Road Districts, under the “Roads and Bridges Ordinance, 1858,” are reprinted for general information from the Gazettes of the 23rd May, 1857, and the 8th May, 1858.

Superintendent.

1st District.—All Lands East of the Waiwakaiho as far as the Mangoraka.

2nd District.—All Lands bounded as follows, viz.:—On the Roads, and by the sea, on the East by the River Waiwakaiho, on the South by the southern boundary of the Native Reserve No. 3, and by the northern boundary of so much of the Avenue Road as is within the said Reserve, on the West by the western boundary of the said Reserve to its junction with the River Henui at the northwest corner of the said Reserve; thence by the said river to the sea.

3rd District.—All Lands bounded as follows, viz.:—On the North by the Town, on the East by the River Henui to its junction with the north-west corner of the Native Reserve No. 3; thence by the western boundary of the said Reserve to the Avenue Road; thence by the north side of the said road to the southern boundary of the said Reserve; thence by the said boundary to the River Waiwakaiho; thence by the said river to its junction with the boundary of the Omata Block; thence by the said boundary to the River Mangorel; thence by the said river to the western boundary of land belonging to H. Turner; thence by the said boundary to the Mangorel road; thence by the north-west side of the said road to the eastern boundary of land belonging to J. Collins; thence by the said boundary to the River Henui; thence by the said river to the boundary line between sections 75 and 76; thence by the said boundary and by the boundary between sections 62 and 63, 48 and 49, 34 and 35, and by a line produced through the belt land D to the boundary of the Town.

4th District.—All Lands bounded as follows, viz.:—On the North by the Town, on the East by the Third District to the River Henui; thence along the said river to the boundary of the Omata Block; thence along the said boundary to the Hurford Road; thence along the east side of the said road to the boundary line between sections 100 and 107, 129, 113; thence by the said boundary to the Frankley Road; thence by the east side of the Frankley Road to the boundary line between sections 90 and 98; thence by the said boundary to the Carrington Road; thence by the west side of the Carrington Road to the boundary line between sections 90 and 96; thence by the said boundary to the Huatoki stream; thence by the Huatoki stream to the boundary of the Town.

5th District.—All Lands bounded as follows, viz.:—On the North by the Town, on the East by the Fourth District, and on the West by the East side of the Hurford Road to the boundary line between sections 120 and 100; thence by the said boundary and by the boundary lines between sections 99 and 120, 95A, 95, 94 and 105, 104, 94, and 91, to the Ngakara stream; thence by the Ngakara to the boundary line between sections 86 and 89; thence by the said boundary to the boundary line between sections 81 and 89; thence by the said boundary to the Barrett Road; thence by the east side of the Barrett Road to the boundary line between sections 76 and 54; thence by the said boundary to the Paritutu line; thence by the Paritutu line to the boundary line between sections 501 and 489A; and thence by the said boundary and the boundaries between sections 502 and 490, 490 and 491, 491 and 479, 479 and 480, 480 and 67, 67 and 68, 54 and 55, 55 and 41, 41 and 42, 42 and 28, 43 and 29, 29 and 30, 30 and 21, 21 and 22, to the Town boundary.

6th District.—All Lands bounded as follows, viz.:—On the North by the Sea, on the East by the west side of the Cutfield Road and Town boundary to the boundary of the Fifth District; thence by the said boundary to the Ngakara stream; and on the West by the Ngakara to a line drawn through section No. 65 to the boundary line between sections 64 and 77; thence by the said boundary to the Pheney Road; thence by the north side of the said road to the boundary line.
