NOTICE.

Election and appointment of Cattle Commissioners for No. 4 District.

Superintendent’s Office,
New Plymouth,
October 24, 1865.

IT is hereby notified that at a General Meeting of the Electors of No. 4 District, under the “Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” held pursuant to notice on Saturday, the 21st instant, for the purpose of electing Cattle Commissioners for the said District, the undermentioned gentlemen were duly elected:

  • John J. Looney,
  • James Dingle,
  • Peter Elliot,
  • W. M. Button.

And it is further notified that by virtue of the power vested in the Superintendent by the 22nd clause of the said Ordinance, I have appointed

John Newland

to be a Commissioner for the same District.

IN exercise of the authority vested in the Superintendent by an Ordinance of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Taranaki, intituled “The Branding of Cattle Ordinance, 1865,” I, Henry Robert Richmond, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Taranaki, do hereby revoke the notice constituting districts under the said Ordinance, dated 31st August, 1865, and published in the Provincial Gazette No. 22, 4th September, 1865, in so far as it relates to the district therein described as No. 2 District; and I hereby constitute the following districts in lieu thereof, for the purposes of the said Ordinance:

No. 2 District;
The Block of Land bounded towards the West by the Henui River, and towards the East by the Mangorei River to its junction with the Waiwakaiho River, and thence to the sea by the Waiwakaiho River, and consisting of part of No. 3 and the whole of Nos. 2 and 10 Road Districts.

No. 6 District;
The Block of Land lying between the Mangorei and Waiwakaiho Rivers, and consisting of part of No. 3 Road District.
