LAND ON DEFERRED PAYMENTS.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following application for a licence to occupy land on deferred payments has been received at this office —

John Lomas, for Section 8, block VIII., Crookston District.

And Tuesday, the 25th day of July, 1876, at 11 o’clock a.m., and the Land Office, Lawrence, are appointed the time and place for deciding this application, if unopposed, and for notifying any objections that may be lodged.

LAND HELD UNDER DEFERRED PAYMENTS.

LICENCES ANNULLED.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waste Lands Board has annulled the licences and declared unoccupied sections 59, block VII., Waipahee; 4, block XI., Waipahee; 14, block I., Chatton; 15, block IX., Waikaka; 16, block IX., Waikaka; 6, block X., Waikaka districts, the conditions required in terms of sections 52B and 56 of the Otago Waste Land Act, 1874, not being fulfilled, and have ordered that such sections should again be advertised open for application. (See advertisement below.)


DEFERRED PAYMENT SECTIONS

Re-opened for Application on Wednesday, 30th August, 1876.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned sections will be open for application on deferred payments on Wednesday, the 30th August, 1876. Application must be made by the applicant in person at any Land Office in the Province, and a deposit of 1s. 6d. per acre paid at the time of making the application, being the first half-year’s occupation fee. The purchase-money is payable at the rate of 3s. per acre per annum for ten years.

Plans to be seen and lithographs obtained at the Land Office, Dunedin.

NORTH EAST VALLEY ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS are invited for the following works:-

No. 1.—To Spall or Quarry and Break 200 yards of 3-inch Road Metal of the Best Blue-stone, at per yard, on Pine Hill, at section 2 and 4, block XI.

No. 2.—To form 16ft-wide Road No. 5, and part No. 6, Opoho, and supply, break, and spread 120 yards 2½-inch Metal, of the best Blue-stone; also 2½-inch Metal for the Branch Road, at foot of Pine Hill.

No. 3.—To supply, break, and spread 400 yards or any greater quantity of 2½ Road Metal of the best Blue-stone and other Repairs for Woodhaugh Road, at per yard.

Tenders left at North East Valley School-house, on or before the 29th July, at 2 p.m., having enclosed 5 per cent. on the amount of tender. The Board not bound to accept the lowest or any tender. Specifications for the above at Cattle Market Hotel, North East Valley.

MAKAREWA ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Makarewa District Road Board propose to make a deviation of road at Section 44, Block VIII., New River Hundred. A map of the proposed deviation may be seen by all interested parties by applying to Mr. Wilkinson, at the office of the Board, Clarendon Hotel, Invercargill. All parties affected by the proposed alteration of road are hereby required to set forth in writing, addressed to the Clerk of the Board, within forty days from the publication hereof all objections which they may have to the proposed alteration.

General Election of Councillors and Auditors for the period commencing 1st August, 1876.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Nomination of Candidates for Election to the offices of Councillors and Auditors as above for Dunedin City will be declared on Monday, the 24th day of July instant, at the Terrace of the Provincial Council Chambers, Water-street, at the hour of 12 o’clock noon.

Nominations in form of Schedule D of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” may be lodged at the Town Clerk’s Office, Manse-street (where blank forms may be obtained), on or before NOON of the day herein fixed for the declaration.

The Councillors retiring are—

For South Ward.—Councillors Edmund Edward Colston Quick, and John Tonkin Roberts.
For High Ward.—Councillors Frederick Chapman and Barnard Isaac.
For Bell Ward.—Councillors Richard Henry Leary and William Woodland.
For Leith Ward.—Councillors John Grant and Charles Stephen Reeves.

Both Auditors retire.

Two (2) Councillors to be elected for each of the four Wards.
Two (2) Auditors to be elected by the whole City.
