No person shall remove cattle from beyond the boundary of the Hundred other than those belonging to him or for the removal of which he shall have due authority, under a penalty of £20, to be recovered in a summary way.

Any person shooting cattle on any Hundred without the consent in writing of the Waste Land Board previously obtained, shall be liable to a penalty of £20, to be recovered in a summary way.

Any person who shall set fire to any herbage or grass upon Crown Lands within any Hundred, without the consent in writing of the Chief Commissioner of the Waste Land Board previously obtained, shall forfeit and pay for every such offence the sum of £5, to be recovered in a summary way; but such consent will not protect any person from the consequences of any loss or damage which may be sustained by any person by reason of the carelessness with which such burning of the Hundred may be performed.

The Waste Land Board may appoint one or more Rangers for each Hundred, whose duty shall be to see that these Regulations are carried into effect, and to report any neglect or breach thereof to the Waste Land Board.

The word cattle, in these Regulations shall mean all animals included within the meanings attached to great and small cattle by the “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” and shall include, except where the context clearly shows a contrary intention, a single head of great or small cattle, as well as any larger number.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 13th March, for
1st. Contract No. 1096. Supply of 400 cubic yards road metal between Portobello Road Church and Beatie’s Gate.
2nd. Contract No. 1097. Metalling 48 chains of road in three portions; 1st, From bottom of hill, near Arnott’s house, to Rogers’; 2nd, From Captain Leslie’s to Larnach’s Quarry.
Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed, “Tender for Contract No. 1096 or 1097,” as the case may be.
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
