powers vested in him by the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," has, by warrant under his hand, appointed me the undersigned, James Wright, to be the person to give public notice, as by law required, of the place, day, and hour for the nomination of candidates for the office of Mayor, at the first election of the Mayor for the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, under the said Ordinance; and to attend on the day of the nomination of candidates for such office at such first election, and to preside and perform at such first election all the acts by the said Ordinance required or directed to be done by the Mayor of the said Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, at the election of Councillors, and Auditors.
Now, therefore, I, the said James Wright, notify that Wednesday, the twenty-second day of December, 1875, at noon, at the School-house, Portobello, in the said Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, have been appointed as the day, hour, and place for the nomination of candidates for election to the office of Mayor of the said Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, at the ensuing election; and I do hereby give notice that I shall attend at the said place, and at the day and time hereinbefore mentioned, and shall then cause to be publicly opened and read, all such nominations of candidates for election to the office of Mayor to the said Incorporated Town, as shall be in due form, and shall have been lodged with Mr Andrew Rankin, the person appointed by His Honor the Superintendent to act as Clerk at such election, at his office, before noon, of the said twenty-second day of December, 1875.

Appointing Mr Andrew Rankin to act as Town Clerk at First Elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin.
WHEREAS the Town of South Dunedin has been incorporated under the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865 :" And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst other things, enacted, that where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first election under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the Superintendent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint some person to perform any of the acts in the said Ordinance required to be done by the Town Clerk, before such officer can be appointed under the provisions of the said Ordinance: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and of all other powers in me in this behalf, do hereby appoint

to perform at the first elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the said Incorporated Town, under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and by the said Ordinance required to be done by the Town Clerk of the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, at such first elections, under the provisions of the said Ordinance.

Appointing certain persons to preside at the polling in the various Wards at the Election of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin.
WHEREAS the Town of South Dunedin has been incorporated under the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865 :" And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst other things, enacted, that where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first elections under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the said Superintendent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint such and so many persons as may be necessary to perform any of the acts in the said Ordinance required to be done by the Mayor, Councillors, and Town Clerk, before such officers can be elected under the provisions of the said Ordinance: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and of all other powers in me in this behalf, do hereby appoint the persons hereinafter mentioned to be the persons before whom shall be held (within the respective wards of the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin set opposite their names) the polling at the elections under the said Ordinance of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for the said incorporated town, and to do within the said respective wards set opposite their names, at such first election, all such acts as by the said Ordinance are required to be done by a Councillor or other person appointed to preside at the polling at elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors.

NOTICE.
INCORPORATED TOWN OF SOUTH DUNEDIN.
WHEREAS by the 28th section of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," it is provided that no person elected to be Mayor, Councillor, or Auditor under the said Ordinance shall be capable of acting as such until he shall first, in the presence of any two Councillors, have made and subscribed the declaration therein set forth: Provided that at the first elections under the said Ordinance, whether for the City of Dunedin or for any incorporated town or place, such declaration shall be made and subscribed before a person to be appointed for that purpose by the Superintendent of Otago:
And whereas it is necessary that a person should be appointed before whom such declaration shall be made and subscribed by the persons elected as Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors respectively, for the Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, at the first elections for the said town under the said Ordinance:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby, in pursuance of the power in this behalf vested in me by the said Ordinance, appoint
MR JAMES WRIGHT, of Forbury,
as and to be the person before whom the persons elected as Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors respectively, at the first elections under the said Ordinance for the said Incorporated Town of South Dunedin, shall make and subscribe the declaration specified in the said twenty-eighth section of the said Ordinance.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago aforesaid, at Dunedin, this thirteenth day of December, 1875.

PROCLAMATION.
Appointing a day for the First Election of a Citizen to be Mayor of the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865, Amendment Ordinance, 1870," it is amongst other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, at any time after any municipality shall have been proclaimed under the provisions of the Ordinance intituled "An Ordinance to amend the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," by Proclamation in the Government Gazette of the Province of Otago, to appoint a day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of the said Municipality: And whereas the Town of St. Kilda has been proclaimed a municipality under the provisions of the said Ordinance, and it is expedient to appoint a day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of the said municipality of St. Kilda:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the said Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have appointed, and do hereby appoint, Wednesday, the fifteenth day of December, 1875, as and to be the day for the first election of a citizen to be Mayor of the municipality of St. Kilda.
