Given under my hand, and issued under the
public seal of the Province of Otago, at
Dunedin, this 7th day of December, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

WARRANT
Appointing an Officer to preside at the First Elections to
be held under the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordi-
nance, 1865, for the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda.
WHEREAS the Town of St. Kilda has been incor-
porated under the provisions of the "Otago
Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865;" And whereas
by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is amongst
other things enacted, that where no special provision is
made for the conduct of the first elections under the said
Ordinance, it shall be lawful for the Superintendent,
by warrant under his hand, to appoint some fit and proper
person to preside at each of such elections: Now, there-
fore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Pro-
vince of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by
the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance,
1865," and of all other powers in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint
MR PETER PAXTON
to preside at the first elections of Mayor, Councillors,
and auditors to be held under the "Otago Municipal
Corporations Ordinance, 1865," for the Incorporated
Town of St. Kilda, in the Province of Otago.
As witness my hand, this seventh day of December,
1875.

NOTICE
Of day and place of Nomination of Candidates for the
Office of Mayor of the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda.
WHEREAS, James Macandrew, Esquire, Superin-
tendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of
the powers vested in him by the "Otago Municipal
Corporations Ordinance, 1865," has, by warrant under
his hand, appointed me the undersigned, Peter Paxton,
to be the person to give public notice, as by law required,
of the place, day, and hour for the nomination of candi-
dates for election to the office of mayor, at the first
election of Mayor for the Incorporated Town of St.
Kilda, under the said Ordinance: the "Otago Municipal
Corporations Ordinance, 1865," of the said incorporated
town of St. Kilda, at the election of Mayor:
Now, therefore, I, the said Peter Paxton, notify that
Wednesday, the fifteenth day of December, 1875, at
noon, at the house of Mr. Roughton, in the said
incorporated town of St Kilda, have been appointed as the
day, hour, and place for the nomination of candidates for
election to the office of Mayor of the said incorporated
town of St. Kilda, at the ensuing election; and I do
hereby give notice that I shall attend at the said place,
and at the day and time hereinbefore set, and
shall then cause to be publicly opened and read, all such
nominations of candidates for election to the office of
Mayor to the said incorporated town, as shall be in due
form, and shall have been lodged with Mr. Robert
Mitchell, the person appointed by His Honor the Superin-
tendent to act as Town Clerk at such election, at his
office, before noon of the said fifteenth day of December,
1875.

Appointing Mr. Robert Mitchell to act as Town Clerk at
First Elections of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors
for the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda.
WHEREAS the Town of St. Kilda has been incor-
porated under the provisions of the "Otago Muni-
cipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865:" And whereas by
the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst
other things, enacted, that where no special provision is
made for the conduct of the first election under the said
Ordinance, it shall be lawful for the Superintendent,
by warrant under his hand, to appoint some person to
perform any of the acts in the said Ordinance required
to be done by the Town Clerk, before such officer can be
appointed under the provisions of the said Ordinance:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of
the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested
in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordi-
nance, 1865," and of all other powers in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, do hereby appoint
MR ROBERT MITCHELL
to perform at the first elections of Mayor, Councillors,
and Auditors for the said incorporated town, under the
said Ordinance, all acts in and by the said Ordinance re-
quired to be done by the Town Clerk of the Incorporated
Town of St. Kilda, at such first elections, under the pro-
visions of the said Ordinance.

various Wards at the Election of Mayor, Councillors,
and Auditors for the Incorporated Town of St. Kilda.
WHEREAS the Town of St. Kilda has been incor-
porated under the provisions of the "Otago
Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865;" and whereas
by the 113th section of the said Ordinance it is, amongst
other things, provided, that where no special provision is
made for the conduct of the first elections under the said
Ordinance, it shall be lawful for the said Superinten-
dent, by warrant under his hand, to appoint such and so
many persons as may be necessary to perform any of the
acts in the said Ordinance required to be done by the
Mayor, Councillors, and Town Clerk, before such officers
can be elected under the provisions of the said Ordi-
nance: Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superinten-
dent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers
vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations
Ordinance, 1865," and of all other powers in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby appoint the persons
hereinafter mentioned to be the persons before whom
shall be held (within the respective wards of the incor-
porated Town of St. Kilda, set opposite their names) the
polling at the elections for the office of Mayor,
Councillors, and Auditors for the said Ordinance of

Ordinance for the said incorporated town, and to do
within the said respective wards set opposite their names,
at such first elections, all such acts as by the said Ordi-
nance are required to be done by a Councillor or other
person appointed to preside at polling at elections of
Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors.

NOTICE
INCORPORATED TOWN OF ST. KILDA.
WHEREAS by the 28th section of the "Otago Mu-
nicipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865;" it is pro-
vided that no person elected to be Mayor, Councillor, or
Auditor under the said Ordinance shall be capable of
acting as such until he shall first, in the presence of any
two Councillors, have made and subscribed the declara-
tion therein set forth: Provided that at the first elections
under the said Ordinance, whether for the city of Dun-
edin or for any incorporated town or place, such declara-
tion shall be made and subscribed before a person to be
appointed for that purpose by the Superintendent of
Otago:
And whereas it is necessary that a person should be
appointed before whom such declaration shall be made
