intituled "The Harbour Boards Act, 1870," it is provided that the Superintendent of the Province within which any port for which a Harbour Board might be constituted thereunder is situate may from time to time, by Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette, delegate to such Harbour Board all or any of the powers and authorities vested in him by "The Marine Act, 1867," subject to any regulations, restrictions, or stipulations which might be specified in such Proclamation: Provided that such delegation should be limited to the port or harbour for which such Board was constituted: And whereas, it is expedient that all the powers and authorities vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago under "The Marine Act, 1867," and such powers and authorities are applicable to and may be exercised in the port of Oamaru, should be delegated to "The Oamaru Harbour Board:" Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Harbour Boards Act, 1870," and of every power and anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby delegate to "The Oamaru Harbour Board" all the powers and authorities vested in me under "The Marine Act, 1867," or any amendment thereof, so far as such powers and authorities can be exercised in the port of Oamaru, and so as the same be exercised only at and for the said port; but subject always to the following restrictions or stipulations: that is to sayβ

That nothing herein contained shall give or be construed to give to the said Board power to levy dues on any goods passing over any railway pier which may hereafter be erected by or for Her Majesty the Queen within the Port of Oamaru.

That nothing herein contained shall give or be construed to give to the said Board power to interfere with or prevent the Proclamation by the Superintendent of the Province of Otago of any land within the Port of Oamaru which is now or hereafter may be vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

That after the third day of March one thousand eight hundred and seventy-six the said Board shall out of their own funds pay and provide for the salaries of the Harbour Master and other persons for the time being employed by the Board at the Port of Oamaru.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this sixteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 20th day of August, 1875.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office, at Queenstown.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 3rd day August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

Frank Butwhistle, on behalf of the New Zealand Gold Mining Company, for two acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated adjoining the Otago claim, on the west side.

N O T I C E
Of certain land in the Province of Otago having been set apart as a reserve for Water Supply at Port Chalmers.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago situate, and by virtue of section 160 of the "Waste Lands Act 1872," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be set apart as a reserve for the collection and supply of water for the Town of Port Chalmers.
Now, therefore, I James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described a reserve for the collection and supply of Water for the Town of Port Chalmers (that is to say):
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement 179a. 16p., situate in the North Harbour and Blueskin District, being sections 1, 2, and 97, block VI., on the map of the said district.
Dated at Dunedin this 30th day of July, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby Given that an application has been received by His Honor the Superintendent, in terms of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865, Amendment Ordinance 1866," to erect the townships of Kingston and Green Island into a municipality, and that objections to the compliance with the application must be lodged at his office within six weeks from this date.
