DRAINAGE MACHINES.
NOTICE.—Parties intending to enter machines for trial at the competition of draining machines—see advertisements in Provincial Gazettes, Nos. 949 to 956—are requested to notify to the Provincial Secretary on or before the 30th instant,—1st. The number of implements they intend to enter for competition; 2nd, if the implements are to be imported, when they are expected to arrive.
The competition will be held about the end of September; the particular day and place will be duly announced. Intending competitors are requested to furnish the above information at the earliest date, in order that the necessary arrangements may be made.

NOTICE.
CROWN GRANTS for the Land and in favor of the Persons after-mentioned are now ready for delivery, and attention is directed to the following Clause of the "Crown Grants Act, 1866":—
Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the charge or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands, or other Officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of Sixpence for every month during which they shall be so left after the expiration of Three Months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the Lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.

LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
PERSONS desirous of selecting Land, either for immediate purchase or for occupation on deferred payments, or under the Agricultural Lease Regulations, will, on application to Mr. Robert Short, at the Land Office, Dunedin, be supplied with all the information they may require as to what land is open for sale or occupation, and the terms upon which it may be acquired. Mr. Robert Short will shew maps of the land, and assist purchasers or selectors in making the necessary applications.
