hibiting or restraining the use for such covering of certain inflammable materials.
1st. It shall not be lawful to make or keep any stack of hay, corn, straw, or other agricultural produce belonging to the class of cereals, stored in the open air, at a less distance than (30) thirty feet from any building and street line, and from the land of adjoining owner.
2nd. It shall not be lawful to make or keep any stack of hay, corn, straw, or other agricultural produce belonging to the class of cereals, stored in the any building within the City of Dunedin, attached to or at a less distance than twenty (20) feet from any other building, unless the roof of such first-mentioned building is covered with iron or slates, and the walls constructed wholly of brick.
3rd. It shall not be lawful to deposit any timber shavings in any wooden building, at a less distance than ten feet from any adjoining land, street, public place, and building.
4th. It shall not be lawful to make or light any fire in any building within the City of Dunedin, situate at a less distance than fifty feet from any other building, save in some properly constructed fire place.
5th. It shall not be lawful, while used as a stable only, may be used for the storage of hay, corn, straw, and other agricultural produce, whether complying with the foregoing regulations or not. Provided that if built of wood or iron its storing capacity shall not exceed (3000) three thousand cubic feet.

No. 7,
A Regulation under the authority of section 1, subdivision 1, part 8, of schedule 13 of said Act—"For appointing limits within which it shall not be lawful to keep any swine."
It shall not be lawful to keep any swine within the following limits, viz:—Hope street and the production of Hope-street on the south-west; York place on the north-west; St. Andrew street, on the north-east; and Otago harbour on the south-east, which limits are coloured yellow on the map deposited in the office of the town clerk.

A Regulation made under the authority of section 2, subdivision 1, Part 8, of schedule 13 of said Act, —"For appointing hours for the removal of night soil, offal, or other offensive refuse or matter, and a place for the deposit of the same."
1st. No person shall empty any privy or load, carry, remove, or deposit any night soil, offal, filth, rubbish, or other offensive refuse or matter within the City of Dunedin, save between the hours of 11 o'clock p.m. and 6 o'clock a.m. of any day.
2nd. No person shall deposit any night soil, offal, filth, rubbish, or other offensive refuse or matter, or empty the contents of any privy within the City of Dunedin, at any place save and except at the City Corporation Manure Depot, situate section 6, block VII., town district (Anderson's Bay Road.)

No. 9.
Regulations made under the general authority of Section 48, Subdivision 1, Part 10, of Schedule 13, of said Act—"For appointing the several sums to be paid for licenses for hackney carriages and the rates of fares to be paid for every such carriage. For regulating the conduct of the owners or drivers thereof plying within the City of Dunedin in their several employments, the days and hours within which they may exercise their calling, the number of persons to be carried by any licensed carriage, the standings for hackney carriages, and the mode in which any such carriages are to stand thereon," &c., &c.
1st. For each licence for any hackney carriage or borough stage carriage there shall be paid to the town clerk the sum of (£1) one pound annually. Every license to be available only until the 30th day of September after the date of its issue.
2nd. For each license for any driver of any hackney carriage or borough stage carriage, there shall be paid to the town clerk the sum of (5s.) five shillings annually. Every such license to be available only until the 30th day of September after the date of its issue.
3rd. On every hackney carriage or borough stage carriage, the owner thereof shall cause to be painted in a legible manner, on a tin plate, in letters of one inch in length, with white on black ground, the words "City of Dunedin," and the number of the carriage corresponding with the number of its license, such tin plate to be securely affixed immediately above the back step.
4th. Every hackney carriage, or borough stage carriage may be used for the purpose for which it is licensed, at any time, and during any hours, day or night.
5th. Every hackney carriage, or borough stage carriage, shall be allowed to carry six (6) passengers, or one passenger for every eighteen (18) inches in width of seating room provided; such seating room to be computed exclusively of the driver's seat. And the number of the persons to be carried by any such carriage shall be kept painted on the tin plate above the back step.
6th. Every hackney carriage, or borough stage carriage, when standing or plying for hire, shall each evening, at and after sunset, carry and sufficiently display two (2) lighted lamps, one on each side the splash board.
STANDINGS.
7th. All hackney carriages, and borough stage carriages, plying between Dunedin and Caversham, when waiting for hire, shall be ranked in a single line, in the centre of Manse street, between the east building line of High street and the west building line of Princes street.
8th. All hackney carriages, and borough stage carriages, plying between the centre of the city and the Water of Leith, when waiting for hire, shall be ranked in a single line, on the line of the old east kerb of Princes street, commencing at the north building line of Water street, and terminating at the south building line of High street, commencing again at the north building line of High street, and terminating at the south building line of Rattray street.
9th. When the north-west corner of Princes and Rattray streets is vacant, the cab which has been longest in the rank shall move to the spot above indicated, in order to take up passengers, but no cab shall remain there longer than fifteen minutes nor a less time than five minutes.
10th. All licensed hackney carriages and borough stage carriages plying between Dunedin and Anderson's Bay when waiting for hire, shall be ranked in a single file, on the west side of Princes street south, fronting the Imperial Hotel, with the horses' heads pointing towards the south.
11th. The rates or fares to be paid for hackney carriages or for borough stage carriages, shall be as follows:—
Fares by time for licensed carriage drawn by one horse. For the first, second, or third hour, (4s.) four shillings per hour; for every subsequent hour, (3s.) three shillings per hour; half and quarter hours at same rates.
