NOTE.βThe barometrical readings are corrected for index error, capillary action, and reduced to 32 deg. Fah. and sea level.
The Thermometers are corrected for index errors, ascertained by comparison with a standard from Kew.
The mean humidity is the mean of the daily humidity, which is computed from the simultaneous observations of the wet and dry bulb thermometers.
In reading the preceding table, it should be borne in mind that all self-registering instruments are corrected at the morning observation, and therefore the results noted occurred during the preceding 24 hours.
