DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Partnership between the undersigned, trading as Keligher and O’Donnell, hotelkeepers, at the European Hotel, Dunedin, is this day DISSOLVED by mutual consent.
Patrick Keligher will continue to carry on the said business, and pay all debts due by the late firm, and receive all debts due to the late firm.

AUCTIONEER’S LICENSE.

A MEETING will be held in the Provincial Government Offices, at noon on Thursday, 1st April, 1875, to consider objections (if any) to the application of RICHARD GETHIN CREAGH, of Tapanui, for an Auctioneer’s License.

IMPOUNDED.

On the 5th day of March, 1875, by John Francis Herbert, Ardmore Station, Tapanui.
One strawberry bull stag, branded on off rump with circle having projecting strokes.
One white cow, branded with TR on near rump.
One white calf, no brand.
One white and red cow, branded like 2 D on off rump.
One white and red calf, no brand.
One red and white heifer, no brand visible.
One yellow and white heifer, brand like anchor on off rump.
One red and white steer, branded like anchor on near thigh.
Owners unknown, for trespassing on Ardmore Station, for which 6s. per head is claimed for driving expenses; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at Tapanui, on Friday, the 2nd day of April, 1875, at 12 o’clock noon.

INCENDIARISM.

Maliciously Setting Fire to an unoccupied House and Furniture.

WHEREAS about 9 o’clock on the night of the 13th ultimo, the unoccupied wooden building known as the “Red Lion Hotel,” situate at Frankton, the property of Patrick Mooney, value £325, was discovered on fire, by which the building and furniture were entirely destroyed:

And whereas, at an inquest held on the 20th ultimo, to enquire as to the origin of the said fire, the jury returned the following verdict:—“That the house was maliciously set on fire by some person or persons unknown.”

Notice is hereby given that a reward of £50 will be paid by the Provincial Government of Otago to any person who will first give such information as will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons by whom the said fire was caused, and His Excellency the Governor will be advised to grant a free pardon to an accomplice, not being the person who actually caused the fire, who will give such information as will lead to a like result.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint William Cuthbert, Esq., to be registrar of Marriages, and of Births, Deaths, and Marriages, and also Vaccination Inspector, for the District of West Taieri, as the same is defined in Proclamation of the 8th day of May, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 28, of the 9th day of May, 1875.

PERSONS desirous of obtaining Letters of Naturalization, conferring upon them the privileges of natural-born British subjects in New Zealand, are informed that they can obtain full particulars of the necessary steps to be taken by them on application to the Resident Magistrate in any district, or to the Colonial Secretary at Wellington.

The fee payable under the “The Aliens Act, 1866,” is one pound sterling, and no other expense is entailed on those who apply to the before mentioned persons.
