QUEENSTOWN CORPORATION BYE-LAWS.

I, PHILIP BURBIDGE BOULT, Town Clerk of the Corporation of Queenstown, do hereby certify, in accordance with Section 184 of Part XIII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” that the Municipal Council of the said Town have adopted, and duly advertised in the Wakatip Mail, notice of the said adoption of the following Bye-Laws :-

BYE-LAW I.

of the Council of the Borough of Queenstown made under the provisions of Part XIII. of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867.”

In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in Section 181, Part XIII., of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,” the Council of the Borough of Queenstown ordain as follows: That is to say—

  1. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th subdivisions of the First Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  2. The whole of the Second Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  3. The whole of the Third Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  4. The 1st and 2nd subdivisions of the Fourth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  5. The 1st and 2nd subdivisions of the Fifth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  6. The whole of the Sixth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  7. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd subdivisions of the Seventh Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  8. The 1st and 2nd subdivisions of the Eighth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  9. The whole of the Ninth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  10. The 1st subdivision of the Tenth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  11. The 50th, 51st, 52nd, 53rd, 54th, 55th, 56th, 57th, 60th, 61st, 62nd, 63rd, 64th, 65th, 70th, 72nd, 73rd provisions of the Tenth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  12. The 3rd subdivision of the Tenth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  13. The 4th subdivision of the Tenth Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act.

  14. The whole of the Eleventh Part of the 13th Schedule of the said Act—

Are hereby adopted in and for the said Borough of Queenstown.

BYE-LAW II.

The following Bye-Laws heretofore existing in the Municipality of Queenstown are hereby repealed, that is to say:—

  1. The Bye-Law numbered 1, entitled “A Bye-Law for regulating hackney carriages, cabs, coaches, and other passenger vehicles, and the owners and drivers thereof, plying for hire within the Town of Queenstown, or arriving and departing therefrom with passengers, or of pack horses plying for hire within and to and from the said town.”

  2. The Bye-Law numbered 2, entitled “A Bye-Law for the licensing and regulating waggons and other vehicles, and the owners and drivers thereof, and for regulating the sale and exposure for sale of hay, straw, coal, and firewood within the town of Queenstown.”

  3. The Bye-Law numbered 3, not entitled.

  4. The Bye-Law numbered 4, entitled, “A Bye-Law to prevent the stacking of hay and straw, and to regulate the storage of the same, in the Town of Queenstown.”

  5. The Bye-Law numbered 5, entitled “A Bye-Law to prevent the evils and dangers arising from the making of fires in the open air.”

  6. The Bye-Law numbered 6, entitled “A Bye-Law to prohibit rubbish or other matter being deposited within the Town of Queenstown, excepting at such places determined upon by the Town Council.”

  7. The Bye-Law numbered 7, entitled “A Bye-Law to prevent persons ringing the Fire Bell, and causing public alarm and commotion.”

  8. The Bye-Law numbered 8, entitled “A Bye-Law to prevent the nuisance arising from keeping of piggeries, pigsties, and other similar places within the Town of Queenstown.”

  9. The Bye-Law numbered 9, entitled “A Bye-Law prohibiting the deposit of goods on the public footpaths, and the exposure of goods for sale outside of any shop, store, dwelling, or house in the Town of Queenstown.”

PUBLIC NOTICE.

Under Section 1, of Regulation IV.

WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Goldfield, described in the Schedule hereto, is for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give Notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size:—

One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no Block Claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.

Given under my hand at Naseby, this 8th March, 1875.

SCHEDULE :

All that portion of the Otago Goldfield situate at Wet Gully, Mount Ida, about one mile and three quarters below the main Dunstan Road, bounded on the north by Crown Lands about 10 chains; on the south by Crown Lands about 10 chains; on the east by Crown Lands about 4 chains; and on the west by Crown Lands about 4 chains.

Section 65, Sub-section 1.

TENTH SCHEDULE.

District of Dunstan, Cromwell, 24th Feb., 1875.

To the District Land Officer at Cromwell.

I HEREBY give Notice, that I intend to construct a tunnel tail race, or drainage channel, for draining and working coal lease, commencing at a point in Shepherd’s Creek, Bannockburn, and terminating in my coal lease.

The length of such tunnel tail race is 200 yards, or thereabouts, and its intended course is east and west.

The mean depth and breadth of such tunnel tail race is 6 feet by 3 feet.

THE Partnership hitherto existing between William Murray, David Law, William Menelaus, and David Gilmour Stephens, under the style of William Murray and Co., has this day been DISSOLVED, so far as D. G. Stephens is concerned, by his retirement from the firm. The business will be carried on as usual by the other partners.
