the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," and the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1872," for the year ending December 31st, 1875, according to the full, fair, and estimated annual rent at which the same might reasonably be expected to let from year to year, free of all usual tenant’s rates and taxes, and deducting therefrom the probable average annual cost of the repairs, insurance, and other expenses (if any) necessary to maintain the same in a state to command such rent, has been duly made.

Notice is further given, that the said Assessment, having on the 3rd day of March, 1875, been allowed by the Council of the said City, is now deposited, and may be daily inspected, at the Town Clerk’s Office, in Manse street in the said City, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., by any person interested therein.

And Notice is further given, that any Appeals against the said Assessment may be lodged at the City Council Chambers, Manse Street, (where blank forms may be had) on or before the 22nd inst., also, that a copy of each notice of Appeal is required by law to be served not later than the 22nd inst., upon any person whose name it may be proposed to insert in the Assessment, or whose property it may be alleged has been omitted therefrom, or assessed below its full, fair, and annual value.

A copy of each notice of Appeal is also required to be delivered by the appellant to the Clerk of the District Court, at his Office, Water street, Dunedin, on or before the 22nd March instant aforesaid.

CLYDE CORPORATION.

BYE-LAW No. I.

BYE-LAW of the Council of the Town of Clyde made under the provisions of Part XIII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867."

In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in Section 181, Part XIII. of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," the Council of the Town of Clyde ordain as follows,—that is to say—

  1. The whole of the subdivisions of the first, second, fifth, seventh, eighth, and eleventh parts, and subdivision 1 of the fourth part, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th provisions of the ninth part, and the 64th, 65th, 71st, and 72nd provisions of the 2nd subdivision, and the 88th, 89th, and 90th provisions of the 4th subdivision of the tenth part of the thirteenth Schedule to the said Act, and hereby adopted in and for the said town of Clyde, and for and on behalf of the Corporation of the said Town of Clyde.

  2. All and every the Bye-Laws heretofore made by the Council of the said Town of Clyde, or now existing, are hereby repealed.

Passed by the said Council this thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

I, JAMES MACANDREW, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me in and by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1867," and the several Amendments thereof, approve of and allow the foregoing Bye-Law No. I. of the Council of the Town of Clyde in the said Province of Otago.

TENTH SCHEDULE.
District of Switzers, February, 16, 1875.
To the District Land Officer at Switzers.

HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that I intend to construct a Water Race for agricultural purposes commencing in a certain gully on Muddy Terrace, and taking in other gullies on the line of race, and terminating on my Agricultural Lease: the length of such race is one mile or thereabouts; size of race, 18in. by 18in.; and will be capable of carrying three heads of water.

District of Dunstan, Cromwell, 24th Feb., 1875.
To the District Land Officer at Cromwell.

HEREBY give Notice, that I intend to construct a tunnel tail race, or drainage channel, for draining and working coal lease, commencing at a point in Shepherd’s Creek, Bannockburn, and terminating in my coal lease.

The length of such tunnel tail race is 200 yards, or thereabouts, and its intended course is east and west. The mean depth and breadth of such tunnel tail race is 6 feet by 3 feet.
