PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

I. Tenders wanted for formation of road from Quarry Point to Vauxhall Township; also for metalling from said entrance to the top of the hill. Information supplied by Mr. W. H. Cutten, or Mr. Hooper, Specifications at Mr. Hooper’s office.

II. Applications invited from parties willing to act as Ranger for the separate subdivisions of the Peninsula Road District. Salary, £10 per annum for each subdivision. Engagement terminable at one month’s notice on either side.

III. Notice is hereby given to all parties affected thereby, that at a meeting of the Peninsula Road Board, held on the 6th February, 1875, it was resolved to levy a separate rate of Sixpence (6d.) in the Pound, net annual value on all rateable property bordering upon the Beach road, North East Harbor Subdivision, for the purpose of metalling Beach Road between Vauxhall and the property of Mr. James Christie.

Objections will be heard at the General Meeting of the Board on Saturday, March 6th, 1875.

APARIMA ROAD BOARD.

ORDER.

THE Aparima District Road Board having duly notified the intention of making a deviation of the road forming the western boundary of section 36, block XV., Jacob’s River Hundred, and there being no objections to the proposed deviation of a road, and the owner and occupier of the section aforesaid having assented thereto, does hereby, under and by virtue of the thirty-third section of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” direct that the proposed deviation of road through section 36 aforesaid shall be extended according to plans and specifications, and that the new road shall be in lieu of the one it is intended to supersede.

BYE-LAW of the OTEPOFO ROAD DISTRICT,

Made and passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 30th day of January, 1875:—

“The Owner of any cattle that may be found straying or trespassing on any of the roads under the control of the Board shall, on conviction, forfeit, for every head of great cattle, any sum not exceeding two shillings and sixpence; and for every head of small cattle, any sum not exceeding sixpence.”

TEACHER WANTED for Mimihau School, at Ma-taura.

Salary guaranteed, at least £100 a-year. There is a small residence and ten acres of land enclosed. Applications, with testimonials, to be sent to the undersigned, on or before the 20th March, 1875.

WAITAHUNA MAIN SCHOOL.

TEACHERS WANTED.—Salary—Master: Government subsidy and fees, less £35; good four-roomed residence, ten acres land well-fenced, and partly broken up. Mistress: Government subsidy £75, and portion of School fees.

The new School is to be erected in Havelock township and the emoluments are likely to be good.

Applications, with testimonials, to be sent in to the undersigned on or before March 10th, 1875.

Salary, £75 and school fees, with house and garden. There are about forty pupils on the roll, with every probability of a rapid increase. A married man preferred. Application with testimonials to be lodged with the undersigned on or before 15th March.

NORTH EAST VALLEY ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS are invited to form and metal a deviation of the Signal Hill Road. Plan and specification can be seen at King’s Store, North-East Valley. TENDERS are also invited to form about 80 chains, 16 feet wide, and remove the bush on about 50 chains, the width of 40 feet. The work will be pointed out by the Inspector on Thursday, the 11th March, at 9 a.m. Plan and specification at Upper Junction Hotel.

TENDERS are also invited to supply, break, and spread 500 yards 3-in. road metal, being 200 yards on section 12, and 300 yards on section 18B, Pine Hill.

Parties tendering for the above works, can leave Tenders at the North-East Valley Schoolhouse, on or before the 13th March, at two p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted by the Board.

TENDERS WANTED

BY the Portobello Road Board for the following Works:—

1st. Work on Seal Point Road Sandymount Subdivision.—Plans and specification to be seen at the house of Mr George Boyles, Seal Point Road, also at Mr Edward Campbell’s, Surveyor, Vogel’s store, Water of Leith, Dunedin. Mr Boyles will show the works on Thursday, the 4th of March prox., at 1 o’clock.

2nd. Work on Sandymount District Road.—Mr David Aitchison will meet with Contractors on Thursday the 4th of March prox., at 3 o’clock to show the works, at Messrs Wespers gully.

3rd. For quarrying, carting, and breaking, 100 cubic yards of metal for Hoopers Inlet. Road Stones and Specifications will be shown by Mr William Dickson jun., on applying at the Portobello saw mill, on Thursday the 4th of March at 1 o’clock. Tenders to be lodged with the undersigned not later than Saturday, the 6th of March at 12 o’clock.
