The householders, in the following mentioned localities respectively, in which schools have been established or authorised, are advised to meet in the residence, well stocked garden, &c. school-house or buildings used as a school-house, of their respective districts on the aforesaid Monday, on or before 1st February, 1875. the 12th day of January, 1875, at 7 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of electing School Committees for the ensuing year, viz.:--Moa Flat, Hamilton, Sowburn, St. Bathans, Blue Spur, Wetherstones, Otakia, Popotunoa, Taieri Beach, Awamoko, Macraes, Hillend, Tapanui, Upper Harbour West, Lower Harbor, Whare Flat, Blacks, Te Houka, Waiwera, Matron, Subdivision. InforWaiaeka, Mimibau, Hyde, Wangaloa, Lower Shotover, Moeraki, Macetown, Glenore, South Akatore, South Bridge, Cardrona, Kakanui, Sawyers Bay, Highcliffe, Tuapeka Mouth, Thompson’s, (Drybread Road, opposite and Tinkers), Tuturau, Taieri Ferry, Greytown, Tuakitoto, Albertown (Wanaka), Sandymount, Mount Cargill, Nokomai, Papakaio, Pukeuri, Kuri Bush, Adam’s Flat, Shag Valley, Clarke’s Flat, Upper Kyeburn, Lower Kyeburn, Inch Valley, Purakanui, Tomahawk, Evan’s Flat, Dunkeld (Beaumont), Walton, Manuka Creek, Forest Hill, Mabel Bush, Grove Bush, Gropers’s Bush, Limestone Plains, Orepuki, Oreti, Wild Bush, Welshman’s, Millers’s Flat, Owake Plat, Clifton, Ahuriri Flat, Kingston, Kawarau Gorge, and Maheno.

PALMERSTON MAIN SCHOOL.
APPLICATIONS, with testimonials, will be received, until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12th, from qualified persons, for appointment of Female Teacher. Salary: £100 per annum with small two roomed cottage. The school accommodation unsurpassed. The successful applicant will be required to enter upon her duties as promptly as circumstances will admit. Applications to be addressed to the undersigned, and endorsed “Application for Teacher.”

PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.
I.—Tenders wanted for procuring, spreading, &c., 300 yards of Beach Gravel on the road near the residence of J. Macandrew, Esq., N.E. Harbour Subdivision. Information supplied by Messrs Hooper and Hunter, N.E. Harbour. Tenders sent in before 2nd January, 1875.
II.—Tenders wanted, for cutting the hill on Beach Road, opposite sections 50, 51, 52, 53, N.E. Harbour. Information supplied and tenders sent in as above.
III.—Tenders wanted for providing, spreading, &c., 120 yards best metal on Valley Road, Tomahawk Subdivision. Also 40 yards best metal on Small’s road, Tomahawk. All information supplied by any of the Tomahawk members. Tenders to be sent in before 2nd January, 1875.
IV.—Tenders wanted for clearing, forming, &c., 12 feet wide, the Main District Road, Tomahawk, from Mr. Fraser’s to Mr. T. Robertson’s. Information supplied and tenders sent in as above.
V.—Tenders wanted, for finishing the upper ten chains of Brown’s road, Anderson’s Bay, leading from Portobello road to Lagoon. Specifications, &c., with Mr. Thomas Somerville, Anderson’s Bay. Tenders sent in as above.
VI.—Notice is hereby Given, that the General Rate of One Shilling per £ on the whole district, and the special rate of One Shilling per £ on the N.E. Harbour and Tomahawk Subdivisions, are now due, and must be paid to me before the 1st January, 1875, after which all unpaid rates will be handed over to the Board’s solicitor for collection.
For the convenience of ratepayers I will attend at Anderson’s Bay Schoolhouse, on Saturday, 19th instant, from 10 a.m. till noon; and at Tomahawk Schoolhouse, on 19th instant, from 1 till 4 p.m.; and at N.E. Harbour, Mr. C. Hunter’s, on Monday, 21st instant, from 5 till 7 p.m.

NOTICE
THE Taieri Road Board intend to levy general rates for year 1874-75 on all rateable property within the District, as follows, viz.:--
East Taieri Subdivision—Sixpence per £.
Owhiro Subdivision—One Shilling per £.
Breadalbane Subdivision—Sixpence per £.
The Rate Book lies at the Clerk’s house, in Mosgiel, where objections, if any, must be lodged in writing within 30 days from date hereof.
