A Special Gazette was published on Tuesday, 30th June, 1874; it consisted of the Proclamation and Notice following:—

PROCLAMATION.

Of His Excellency the Governor having assented to certain Ordinances of the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago.

By His Honor James Macandrew Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS in the thirty-second Session of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, the Bills hereinafter mentioned were passed by the said Council—(that is to say):

“The Invercargill Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Frankton Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Winton Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Portobello School Glebe Exchange Ordinance 1873;”

“The North Shag Valley School Reserve Sale Ordinance 1873;”

“The Kakanui Harbour Board Ordinance 1873;”

“The Invercargill Hospital Reserve Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Oamaru Hospital Reserve Change Ordinance 1873;”

“The Dunedin Reserves Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Port Chalmers Reserves Management Ordinance 1873;”

“The Education Reserves Management and Leasing Ordinance 1873;”

“The Invercargill Athenæum Reserves Management Ordinance 1873;” and

“The Roads Diversion Ordinance 1873:”

And whereas the said Bills were presented to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand thereto, and the said Superintendent did upon the said Bills being so presented to him as aforesaid, declare that he reserved the same for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon:

And whereas the said Bills have since been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and he has been pleased to assent to the same.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Bills before-mentioned, that is to say—

A Bill shortly intituled the “Otago Harbour Board Ordinance, 1874.”

And whereas the said Bill was presented to the Superintendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand thereto, and the said Superintendent did upon the said Bill being so presented to him as aforesaid, declare that he reserved the same for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereon: And whereas the said Bill has since been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and he has been pleased to assent to the same:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Bill before-mentioned, that is to say—the “Otago Harbour Board Ordinance 1874,” has been laid before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, and that His Excellency has assented to the same.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Corporation of Cromwell will constitute and hold an Open Court for the Revision of the Citizens’ List for hearing and determining the claims of the Citizens to be inserted in such List, and the objections of the Citizens to any other Citizen having his name retained thereon. And such Court will be held on Monday, 13th July, 1874, at noon, at the Council Chamber, Cromwell.

NOTICE.

In the matter of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of an Order made by the Lindhurst Road Board diverting a Road.

UNDER and by virtue of the provisions of section thirty-three of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint and fix Friday, the 24th day of July proximo, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon, at the Superintendent’s office, in the Provincial Government Buildings, at Dunedin, as and to be the time and place for taking into consideration an Order made by the Lindhurst Road Board on the 24th day of March, 1874, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 909, on the 20th day May, 1874.
