I hereby give notice that I intend to construct a Water-
race, for irrigation and water-power for thrashing, &c.,
about one mile and a quarter above Swinebourne Farm,
and terminating at Swinebourne Farm.
The length of such race is about one and a-half miles,
or thereabouts, and its intended course is southerly.
The mean depth and breadth of such race, 18in. x 36in.,
and it is capable of five heads of water.

above-named applicant, must lodge his objection in
writing at my office within fourteen clear days from the

SUPREME COURT.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the Supreme
Court, for the despatch of Criminal and Civil
Business, will be holden at the Supreme Court House, at
Dunedin, on Monday, the sixth day of July next, at the
hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon, at which time and
place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as
prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses are re-
quired to give their attendance.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

POLICE HORSE "PUNCH" LOST.

STRAYED, between the 26th and 30th ultimo, from
the paddock of Mr. Tomlinson, Maclaggan-street,
Dunedin, Police horse "Punch," a heavy draught grey
gelding, aged, 16 hands high, branded U on near
shoulder, old collar-marks on shoulder, in good condition.

THE following Resolution was passed at a meeting of
the Shareholders, held in the Masonic Hall, on
Friday, 1st May, 1874:—
"Resolved, that in the opinion of this meeting, the
affairs of the Dunedin Masonic Hall Company Limited
have been fairly and satisfactorily wound up."

star in forehead, no visible brand. One chestnut Filly,
blaze in face, no visible brand; owners unknown; for
trespassing on Mr. Cumming's stackyard, for which six
pounds (£6) damages are claimed, and in default of being
released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound
at Islabank, on Friday, the 19th day of June, 1874, at
twelve o'clock noon.

INCENDIARISM.

Maliciously Setting Fire to Three Stacks of Wheat.

£100 REWARD
And a Free Pardon to an Accomplice.

WHEREAS between 6 p.m. on the 6th, and 8 a.m.
on the 7th instant, three stacks of wheat, con-
taining about 1,000 to 2,000 bushels, situate at Waiareka,
in the Oamaru district, the property of Messrs. Gifford
and Clowes, were destroyed by fire: And whereas it is
believed that the said fire was wilfully caused:
Notice is hereby Given, that a reward of £100 will be
paid by the Provincial Government of Otago to any per-
son who will first give such information as will lead to
the arrest and conviction of the person or persons by
whom the said fire was caused, and His Excellency the
Governor will be advised to grant a Free Pardon to an
accomplice, not being the person who actually caused the
fire, who will give such information as will lead to a like
result.

INCENDIARISM.

WHEREAS about 8.30 o'clock on the night of the
7th instant, two stacks of Oats, situate at the
Swinburn, in the Mount Ida District, the property of
Joseph Preston, value £300, were discovered on fire, by
which they were destroyed; and whereas at an inquest
held on the 11th inst., at the Swineburn, by A. H. Strat-
ford, Esq., R.M. and Coroner, to inquire as to the origin
of the said fire, the Jury returned the following verdict:
"That some person or persons did on the night of the 7th
instant wilfully and maliciously set the said stacks of Oats
on fire."
Notice is hereby Given, that a reward of £100 will be
paid by the Provincial Government of Otago to any
person who will first give such information as will lead
to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons by
whom the said fire was caused, and His Excellency the
