And doth declare that the regulations hereby made shall form part of and be read and construed with the regulations made by the said Order in Council of the eighth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, and seventy-one in lieu of regulation Number one of the said regulations.
1. Application for Lease.
Every application for an agricultural lease shall be in the form in the first schedule to the Regulations relating to Agricultural Leases in the Otago Gold Fields made by their order in Council of the eighth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, or to the like effect; and every such application shall be lodged at such Warden’s office as shall be appointed for that purpose, and copies of every such application must be posted and maintained by the applicant for fourteen days on boards standing not less than three feet above the surface of the ground, and erected one at each corner of the land applied for; and every such application shall be advertised twice in some newspaper to be named by the Warden and at the expense of the applicant in such newspaper as the Wardens may direct, and copies of the newspapers containing such advertisement shall be produced to the Warden at the time of hearing.

NOTICE.
PROVINCIAL COMPULSORY LANDS TAKING ACT, 1866.
NOTICE is hereby Given, that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago at its next session, authorising the Superintendent of the Province of Otago to take compulsorily, for the purpose of making a Road in the District of Waitahuna West, parts of sections numbered respectively one (1), two (2), three (3), and four (4) block six (VI), Waitahuna West District; and Notice is hereby further Given, that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced as aforesaid, may be inspected at the office of the Clerk of the Provincial Council, on and after the twentieth day of April next.

Appointment of Wardens of Hundreds; and Regulations and Bye-Laws for the Management of the Pasturage thereof.
In accordance with the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872, the following persons have been appointed Wardens within the Hundreds of the Province of Otago respectively set opposite their several names:-
- James Fulton, Wm. M’Diarmid, and James Shand, Tuaquair Hundred.
- C. Campbell, J. Findlay, J. Prosser, W. Murcott, and A. M’Kerrow, Moeraki Hundred.
- R. Allan, G. Brunton, C. M’Donald, C. Hammond, and H. Scott, Waikouaiti Hundred.
- R. Robinson, D. Edmond, W. Heenan, D. M’Pherson, and W. Nichol, West Taieri Hundred.
- J. S. Shanks, Andrew Muir, Allan Galt, senr., J. H. Perkins, and G. Rae, Tutura Hundred.
- J. A. R. Menzies, A. Douglas, Robert Padd, Andrew Noble, Alex. Beange, and Mokoreta Hundred.
- G. F. Richardson, H. Carswell, and C. Brunton, Teetors Hundred.

REGULATIONS AND BYE-LAWS.
MOERAKI HUNDRED.

One head of great cattle to be allowed for every twenty acres owned or occupied. No small cattle to be depastured on the Hundred.

Residents in township of Hampden who have taken licenses to be allowed to depasture one head of great cattle for every acre or part of an acre of township land owned or occupied. No cattle being driven from one district to another will be allowed to depasture on the unenclosed lands of the township of Hampden.

Whenever it shall appear to the Wardens, or a majority of them, that any beast of a dangerous or vicious character, or from any other cause, they may deem it advisable to prohibit any such beast from depasturing on the Hundred; and no entire animal over the age of six months, excepting horses, and no entire horses over the age of twelve months, shall be depastured on the Hundred, without the consent, in writing, of the Wardens, or a majority of them.

Any person or persons offending against the above Bye-laws shall be liable to a penalty of any sum not exceeding five pounds.

All or any of the acts authorized by these Bye-laws to be done by a Warden or Wardens, may be done by any Ranger or other person duly appointed by them, or authorized in that behalf.

WAIKOGHAITI HUNDRED.
At a meeting held by the Wardens of the above Hundred, on the 18th February, 1874, it was agreed:-

The number of cattle which the Hundred is capable of depasturing is computed at 299 great cattle, or 1495 small cattle, exclusive of the number which may be depastured free.

The portion of land set apart for depasturing small cattle shall be that part of the Hundred east of the Main Road. Great cattle may be depastured on the remainder of the Hundred.

The number of stock which may be depastured by each license-holder within the Hundred (exclusive of those entitled to depasture free) is as follows:-

Bye-Laws.

No person shall disturb or harass cattle lawfully depasturing upon the Hundred, provided always that any person holding a license to depasture cattle within the Hundred, or any person duly authorised by him, may drive such cattle for the purpose of collecting such as may belong to him, and for the legitimate use of the right of pasturage within the Hundred; but in case it should be necessary for such purpose to drive any cattle belonging to any other person a greater distance than half a mile, the person so driving such cattle must take them to the nearest available stockyard, and there separate his own cattle from those of other persons, and return the latter to the place from whence they were driven.

Any person removing cattle from the Hundred shall give notice in writing of number and description of the same to the nearest Warden.

Any person offending against any of the foregoing Bye-laws shall be liable to a penalty of any sum not exceeding five pounds.
