PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
I. JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in this behalf, by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance 1873,” and of the powers vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1873,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the Road District in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.
- Halfway Bush Road District.
(1) All that area in the Province of Otago containing by admeasurement, 0a. 1r. 23p. more or less, being a road-line situate in the North-Harbor and Blueskin District; bounded towards the north-east by section numbered 1 block X seven hundred and ninety (790) links more or less, and towards the south-west by section numbered 7 and part 6 block VIII Lower Kaikorai District, seven hundred and ninety (790) links more or less.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
IN conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown on or before the 17th day of April, 1874.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s office at Queenstown.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 31st day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

AGRICULTURAL LEASES REGULATIONS.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
AT the Provincial Government Buildings, Dunedin, the 20th day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four. Present—His Honor the Superintendent; George Turnbull and Horace Bastings, Esquires, Members of the Executive Council of the Province of Otago, being also Members of the Provincial Council of the said Province.
Whereas, by the thirty-ninth section of “The Gold Fields Act, 1866,” it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor, from time to time, to make Regulations prescribing (amongst other things) the mode in which applications may be made for leases of land for agricultural purposes, and such Regulations from time to time to amend, alter, and revoke: And whereas the Governor in Council has, under his hand and the public seal of the Colony, delegated unto the Executive Government of the Province of Otago his powers under the said thirty-ninth section of The Gold Fields Act, 1866”: And whereas, by an order in Council bearing date the eighth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette No. 772, on the ninth day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, certain regulations were made for the purposes specified in the said thirty-ninth section of the said Act. And, whereas by a proclamation bearing date the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, and published in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 896, on the fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, Regulation No. (1) of the said Regulations so made by the said Order in Council as aforesaid was revoked and another regulation was made in lieu thereof. And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said last-sustained regulation and to make the regulations hereinafter contained in lieu thereof and also of said regulation No. one (1) of the said regulations so made by the said Order in Council as aforesaid. Now therefore His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, and by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Government of the said Province in this behalf by the Governor in Council under the authority of the “Gold Fields Act Amendment Act 1867” and of any and every other power in any wise enabling him in this behalf doth hereby order that the said regulation so made by the said proclamation of the twenty-eighth day of February one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four as aforesaid shall from and after the day of the date hereof be revoked and with the advice and consent aforesaid and by virtue and in exercise of the powers aforesaid doth hereby make the regulation following prescribing the mode in which applications may be made for leases of land for agricultural purposes in lieu thereof.
