Contract No. 936—Erection of Timber Bridge over the Taieri River, at Greytown.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 936." The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

BRIDGE OVER KAWARAU RIVER.
CONDITIONAL TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 14th April, from persons desirous of erecting a Bridge over the Kawarau river near Morven Ferry.
Conditions may be inspected at the office of the Provincial Engineer and at the Police Camp, Arrow.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.
THE following is a description of Educational Districts formed by the Education Board, at a meeting held upon the 25th February, 1874:—
CAVERSHAM DISTRICT
Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by sections 33 and 32, Lower Kaikorai District, sections 46, 58, 59, 63, 64, and 65, block VI., Town District; on the north-east by section 5, block VI., sections 16, 26, 36 and 59, block VII., Town District, D. Calder’s application 118, and thence by a direct line to the ocean; on the south-east by the ocean; and on the south-west by a line forming the south-western boundary of sections 37, 38, and 39, Ocean Beach District, and its continuation to the ocean, also by sections 49, 68 and 87, Ocean Beach District, thence by a direct line to the south-west corner of section 41, block VI., Town District, thence by block XV., Dunedin and East Taieri District, and thence by section 36, Lower Kaikorai District.
KENSINGTON DISTRICT
Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north-west by sections 65 and 99, block VI., Town District, the north-west boundary of the Southern Cemetery Reserve, block I., City of Dunedin, and thence by Princes-street, Dunedin; on the north-east by the City of Dunedin and Otago Harbour; on the south-east by the road line intersecting section 8, block VII., Town District, and thence by sections 31, 30, 29, 28 and 27, block VII., Town District; and on the south-west by Caversham District.
FORBURY DISTRICT
Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north-west by Caversham and Kensington Districts; on the north-east by Otago Harbour, sections 70 and 81, block VII., Town District, and thence by a direct line to the ocean; on the south by the ocean; and on the south-west by Caversham district.
CLINTON DISTRICT
Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north-west by sections 13, 8, 11, 15, block III., Kuriwao District, by a Bush Reserve, and sections 77 and 28, block IX., Pomahaka District; on the north by sections 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, and 46, block IX., Pomahaka District; on the east, by block VIII., Pomahaka District, thence by the Kuriwao Stream to the eastern boundary of block I., Kuriwao District, thence by the said eastern boundary to Waiwera Cone; and on the south-west, by the south-western boundary of Popotunoa Hundred.
WAIRUNA DISTRICT
Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by block II., Waipahee District, and block XIII., Pomahaka District; on the east by blocks X. and VIII., Pomahaka District; on the south and south-east by Clinton District; on the south-west by the south-western boundaries of sections 13, Block III., Kuriwao District, and 20, block IV., Waipahee District; and on the west by blocks VI. and VII., Waipahee District.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.
RICHARDSON SCHOLARSHIP.
THE Competition for the Richardson Scholarship will take place on Friday, 1st May, 1874.
The subjects for examination, with the marks showing the relative value of each, are the following:—English, 150; Arithmetic, 150; Geometry, Euclid, Books I. and II., 100; Algebra, 100; Latin, Virgil’s Georgics and De Amicitia, 200; Greek, Anabasis, 100; General Geography, and History of England, from the Revolution to the Accession of Queen Victoria, 100; Natural Science, 100.
Competitors must have attended for two years some Provincial School, and for one year the High School of Dunedin; age must not exceed 18.
The Scholarship is tenable for three years, and of the value of £30 per annum.
The names of competitors, with certificates of good conduct, must be sent to me on or before 30th April.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO.
THE SESSION for 1874 will be opened on MONDAY, 4th of MAY, with an Introductory Address by Captain Hutton, Lecturer on Geology and Zoology, at 7.30 p.m.
The Matriculation Examination will be held on the 1st and 2nd of May, commencing at 10 a.m.
On Tuesday, the 5th, the different Classes will be Opened as follows:—

EDUCATION MEETINGS.—In consequence of no School Committee having been elected for the following-mentioned districts on the 12th of January, His Honor the Superintendent has appointed a Meeting of the Owners and Occupiers of Land and householders of each district, to be held in the Schoolhouse, on Monday, the 30th March, at Seven o’clock, p.m., to elect a School Committee for the current year:—
