TRAQUAIR HUNDRED BYE-LAWS.

  1. The Traquair Hundred is capable of depasturing 7920 Sheep or 1583 Cattle.
  2. Each License-holder may depasture on the Hundred the number of Cattle set opposite to his name, inclusive of those allowed to be depastured free:—

  1. All additional stock at present running on the Hundred must be removed within fourteen days from the date hereof.
  2. The Cattle and Sheep of each License-holder must be branded or bristled distinctly with his brand as advertised in the Government Gazette of December 31st, 1873; and no cattle or sheep with other brands will be allowed to remain on the Hundred.
  3. The License-holders shall, within fourteen days from the date hereof, register a statement in writing of the number and description of Cattle to be depastured by them on the Hundred.
  4. Any person, whether License Holder or not, bringing Stock on to the Hundred or removing them therefrom, shall, before doing so, give twenty-four hours written notice to the Ranger or Wardens.
  5. No person shall in any way disturb or harass Cattle, great or small, lawfully depastured on the Hundred, further than may be necessary for the purpose of collecting and dealing with such of them as may belong to him.
  6. Any License-holder removing cattle shall, after drafting his own at the nearest available stockyard, return all others to the place he brought them from.
  7. No sheep shall be allowed to be depastured within the undernamed boundaries:—The Traquair Stream to Mr. Holmes’ sod fence, thence by the sod fence to the Lee Stream, thence by the Lee Stream to the Little Lee Stream, thence by the Little Lee Stream to the turn of the Mountain Road, thence by the northern branch of the Ravensbourne Stream to the boundary of the West Taieri Hundred, thence by the West Taieri Hundred to the starting point.
  8. The penalty for any breach of the foregoing Bye-Laws shall be a sum not exceeding £5, to be recovered in a summary way, in accordance with the 172nd section of the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tenders for Contract No. 936.” The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 31st March, 1874, for Contracts Nos. 891 to 895, maintenance of portions of road between East Taieri Bridge and Tokomairiro, from the first day of April, 1874, to 31st March, 1875.
Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp Tokomairiro.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract for Nos. 891, 892, 893, 894, 895,” as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Friday, 3rd April, 1874, for Contracts Nos. 877, 878, and 879, Construction of Light Railways in the Western District of Southland, embracing “Riverton to Orepuki,” “Riverton to Otautau,” and “Riverton to Invercargill and Winton Line at Makarewa Bridge.”
Drawings, Specifications, and General Conditions may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contracts, Nos. 877, 878, and 879,” as the case may be. The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
