Freeses to occupy land and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted, on and after the fourteenth day of January, 1874.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement two thousand six hundred and thirty-five (2,635) acres three (3) roods and eleven (11) poles, more or less, situate in Glenkenich district, being sections numbered respectively 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 48, 49, 50, 51, 61, 62, 63, 64 and 71, block III, forming part of Run numbered 1754, comprising 1154 acres and 38 poles; together with sections numbered respectively 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, block II, comprising 1461 acres 2 roods and 13 poles, forming part of Run numbered 168 on the map of the said district, bounded towards the north by sections numbered respectively 47, 46, 60, and 72, block III, twenty-one thousand three hundred and thirty (21,330) links; towards the south-east by sections numbered respectively 81, 70, 69, 66, 65, 80, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 52, block III, twenty-one thousand six hundred (21,600) links; towards the east by sections numbered respectively 11, 12, 13, 52 and 53; block III, thirteen thousand one hundred and fifty (13,150) links; towards the south by sections numbered respectively 2, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, block VI, nineteen thousand one hundred and thirty (19,130) links; towards the west-north-west by Crown land three thousand nine hundred and eighty (3,980) links; and towards the west by a road line thirteen thousand one hundred and eighty (13,180) links, excepting out of the above description Pre-emptive Right on Run 1687.

PROCLAMATION.
Setting apart Lands in the Waikaka and Chatton Districts—Occupation on deferred payments.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the forty-seventh section of the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, from time to time by Proclamation, to be published in the Provincial Gazette, to set apart any Province, districts or blocks of land, within which licences to occupy land, and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted. And whereas the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago has recommended the Superintendent of the said Province to set apart the lands specified in the Schedule hereto for alienation on deferred payments.
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council, as aforesaid, do hereby, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” and of every other power in this behalf enabling me, in proclaim, declare and set apart all that district or block of land, containing by estimation 5000 acres, more or less, situate in the Waikaka and Chatton districts, being parts of blocks numbered respectively I and II Waikaka, and I Chatton on the maps of the said districts specified in the Schedule hereto as a district, within which licenses to occupy lands and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted on and after the 20th April, 1874.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estimation five thousand (5000) acres, more or less, being parts of blocks numbered respectively one (I) and two (II), Waikaka district, and part of block numbered one (I), Chatton district, and forming part of Run 111, bounded towards the north by the southern boundary of Waikaka district, extending from the Mataura river to Main Ridge; and to Pyramid twenty-two thousand six hundred sixty-two (22,662) links; thence by a line due east to the Waikaka river twelve thousand five hundred (12,500) links; thence in a southerly direction along the Waikaka river to Village reserve forty-four thousand two hundred (44,200) links; thence by a line due west along Village reserve twenty thousand (20,000) links; thence in a northerly direction along Village reserve and the Mataura river twenty-three thousand seven hundred (32,700) links to the starting point, excepting out of the above description, section numbered 1, block I, Waikaka district, all intersecting road lines and pre-emptive right on the said run.

PROCLAMATION.
Appointing certain Roads in the Matawhero Road District to be Main District Roads.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of block numbered I, and proceeding due west twenty thousand nine hundred (20,900) links; thence by a line due south, nine hundred and seventeen (917) links; thence by a line due east, eleven thousand two hundred and eighty-three (11,283) links; thence by a line in a north-east direction, thirteen thousand six hundred (13,600) links, to the starting point, excepting all intersecting road lines.
