PROCLAMATION.

Setting apart Lands in the Waipahee District for occupation on deferred payments.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the forty-seventh section of the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, “The Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, from time to time by Proclamation, to be published in the Provincial Gazette, to set apart in any Province, districts or blocks of land, within which licenses to occupy land, and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted. And whereas the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago has recommended the Superintendent of the said Province to set apart the lands specified in the Schedule hereto for alienation on deferred payments.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council as aforesaid, do hereby, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf enabling me, proclaim, declare, and set apart all those three several districts or blocks of land, containing by estimation 1528 acres 1 rood and 23 poles, 980 acres, and 2496 acres 2 roods and 17 poles, more or less, situated in the Waipahee District, being parts of blocks numbered respectively VII, X, and XIII on the map of the said district, specified in the schedule hereto as a district, within which licenses to occupy land and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted on after the 20th day of January, 1874.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land in the Province of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by estimation five thousand (5000) acres, more or less, situate in Waipahee district, being parts of runs numbered respectively seventy-eight A (78a) comprising 980 acres, seventy-eight B (78b) comprising 1523 acres 1 rood and 23 poles, and one hundred and sixty-seven A (167a) comprising 2496 acres 2 roods and 17 poles, on the map of the said district; bounded towards the east by section numbered 52, by the Waipahee River and Railway Reserve, also by sections numbered respectively 8, 9, 13 and 15, block VII, nineteen thousand four hundred (19400) links; towards the south by sections numbered respectively 22, 23, 24, 25, a reserve, 28, and 29, block VII, and a line extending from the said section 29 and proceeding due west to the Waipahee river thirty thousand five hundred (30500) links; thence along the Waipahee river in a northerly direction across the Railway Reserve seven thousand two hundred (7200) links, thence along the northern boundary of Railway Reserve in a westerly direction eight thousand six hundred (8600) links, thence by a line proceeding due north nine thousand five hundred (9500) links to the said block IX, proceeding due east across trigonometrical station DD fifteen thousand nine hundred (15900) links to the western boundary of block numbered VIII, thence by a line proceeding due south five thousand (5000) links to the southern boundary of block VIII, thence along the southern boundary of the said block VIII in an easterly direction three thousand eight hundred (13800) links, to section numbered 52, block VII; the starting point.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this ninth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

WHEREAS by the forty-seventh section of the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, from time to time by Proclamation, to be published in the Provincial Gazette, to set apart in any Province, districts or blocks of land, within which licenses to occupy land, and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted. And whereas the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago has recommended the Superintendent of the said Province to set apart the lands specified in the Schedule hereto for alienation on deferred payments.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council, as aforesaid, do hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by “The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872,” and of every or any other power in this behalf enabling me, proclaim, declare, and set apart all those two several districts or blocks of land, containing by estimation 1184 acres and 88 poles, and 1451 acres 2 roods and 13 poles, more or less, situate in the Glenkenich District, being parts of blocks numbered respectively II, and III on the map of the said district, specified in the Schedule hereto as a district within which licenses to occupy land and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted.
