THE Seaside Road Board hereby notify that a general rate of one shilling per pound was made by the Board on the 10th day of October, for the year 1873-4. Any objections (in writing) to the valuation sent to the undersigned will be heard at a special meeting of the Board, to be held on Monday, 10th November, at noon, in the house of Mr Hugh Graham, Boat Harbor.

NOTICE
—The Peninsula Road Board having decided to levy a rate of one shilling in the £ throughout the whole district for the current year, all persons having any objection whatever to the said rate, are requested to deposit their objections (in writing) with the Clerk of the Board within one month from this date. Objectors will be heard in support of their objections at a special meeting of the Board, to be held in the Highcliff School-house, on Saturday, 8th November, 1873.

To the District of Lawrence, 26th September, 1873.
HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water Race for industrial purposes, commencing at a point at Benger Creek about half a mile above the Gorge, and terminating at the lower end of Moa Flat, opposite Brual’s Hotel.

The length of such race is three miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is about easterly.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet by 3 feet, and it is capable of carrying four sluice heads of water.

IMPOUNDED on the 24th October, Friday, noon, two heifers and a steer will be sold at Lawrence Pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 24th October, Friday, noon, a colt and a mare will be sold at Oamaru Pound.

IMPOUNDED on the 6th day of October, 1873, by Arthur Toms, Inspector of Nuisances,

  • 1 bay mare, branded like H B near shoulder, shod all round; also,
  • 1 dark brown or black mare, star on forehead, branded like O with stroke above and below near shoulder, indistinct brand off shoulder.

Owners unknown, for trespassing on cricket ground, for which no damage is claimed, and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound at Oamaru, on Friday, the 31st day of October, 1873, at twelve o’clock noon.

Owners unknown, for trespassing on public roads, for which is driving expenses are claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Inch Clutha, on Friday, the 31st of October, 1873, at 12 o’clock noon.

For trespassing on his grass paddock, and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on the 31st day of October, 1873, at 12 o’clock noon.
