NOTICE

Section 21, Block VI, New River hundred, will be open for application on and after the 19th June, 1873.

TO THE DISTRICT LAND OFFICER AT DUNEDIN

I HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that I intend to construct a water Race for Mining purposes commencing at a point in section 3, Block IX Waikouaiti District, and terminating about 20 chains from section 2 same Block.

The length of such Race is 2½ miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is along the terrace on the east bank of the Waikouaiti River.

The mean depth and breadth of such Race is 2 feet by 1½ foot and it is capable of carrying 3 sluice heads of water, and the time estimated for the completion of such Race is one week.

NOTICE to Applicants for unsurveyed land, under “Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872.”—It is hereby notified to the applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that they have been declared to be the purchasers of the sections set opposite their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of those sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Dunedin on or before Wednesday, the 11th day of June, 1873, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.

NOTICE to Applicants for unsurveyed land, under “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866.”—The section in the subjoined Schedule being now surveyed, the applicant is informed that the Waste Land Board will give its decision on his application at this Office, on Thursday, the 12th day of June, 1873, at 12.30 o’clock noon; or on or before which day objections to the survey, if any, must be made.

NOTICE is hereby given that sections 5, 6, and 10, Block 13, containing 193a or 12p, 236a or 39p, and 205a 2r 15p respectively; Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 18a, Block 14, Moeraki District, containing respectively 173a 3r 5p, 88a or 13p, 313a 2r 36p, 281a 2r 20p, 284a 1r 12p, 232a 1r 25p, 237a or 25p, 316a, 10p, 316a, 175a or 19p, 184a 2a 15p, will be offered for sale by public auction at Mr Murcott’s Hotel, Hampden, on Monday, the 30th day of June next, at 12 o’clock noon, at the upset price of 10s per acre, and subject to repayment of survey expenses.

25 ACRES of the Government Reserve at the Mataura Falls on the Southland side of the Mataura will be open for application at the Land Office, Invercargill, on the 28th day of June next. The land is bounded on the south-east by the Waimumu stream and the road reserve on the Mataura; on the south-west by the lignite reserve; on the north-west by a public road; and on the north-east by a line at right angles to the north-west boundary to include the required area, as the same shall be more particularly described after survey.

NOTICE is hereby given that the application of Robert Coghill & Co., for a Gold Mining Lease of 10 acres of land at Havelock, has been cancelled, and land is now open for occupation by holders Miners’ Rights.

A MEETING of Ratepayers in the respective Subdivisions of the Portobello Road District will be held on Thursday, the 12th of June prox., at noon, to elect members for the Road Board in place of those going out of office. Dick, returning officer.
