TO SURVEYORS.

WANTED, an experienced Surveyor, to take charge of the Aparima and Waiau Survey District, Southland. Applications, stating qualifications, to be forwarded to the Chief Surveyor, Dunedin; or the Inspector of Surveys, Invercargill. Surveyor will be paid by an acreage fee on all land purchased in his district.

The following is a description of the area of survey requiring to be completed:—Twenty sections, containing 4897 acres: fees, with travelling expenses added, come to £252 9s. Also three bush reserves, containing 900 acres: survey fees, £91 14s. In addition to this work, the adjoining district surveyor, who has more work on hand than he can complete, will transfer surveys in the Invercargill survey district: Eleven sections, containing 2594 acres; survey fees, £136 4s 3d: seven Brash Reserves, containing 2252 acres; survey fees, £256 12s 8d. Making a total of surveys to be completed, 10,243 acres; survey fees, £737 0s 8d.

EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS.

A MEETING of the owners and occupiers of land and householders in the Educational Districts of West Taieri and Outram respectively will be held in the Schoolhouse of each district upon Monday, the 9th day of June, 1873, at half-past seven o’clock p.m.

HOLIDAY.—QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY.

THE Anniversary of the said Birthday will be celebrated on Monday, 26th May, 1873, on which day the Provincial Government Offices will not be opened.

PUBLICANS’ LICENSE MEETINGS,

FOR considering applications for said licenses, &c., will be held in the various Licensing Courts throughout the Province, at noon on Tuesday, the third day of June, 1873. Applications, &c., must be made to the respective Clerks of Court, fourteen days at least before the said dates.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

NOTICE is hereby given that the land lately opened for sale at Waikoikoi, Glenkenich, being sections numbered 1 to 39, 52 to 58, 65 to 70, 78, 80, and 81, block 3, Glenkenich, is withdrawn from sale.

Also, sections 8 and 11 block 1, Kaitangata District, advertised to be sold at Tokomairiro on the 9th instant, are also withdrawn.

WEDNESDAY, 2nd July, 1873.

Run to be Leased, if no objection.

An application having been made by Messrs Fraser and McLean for a pastoral lease of 5000 acres more or less of country situated between the Manapori and Monowai Lakes, Waiau west, and bounded towards the north by the Manapori Lake, towards the east by the bush and the Hunter Mountains, towards the southward by the bush and the Watershed of Monowai Lake, and towards the west by the bush and a range of mountains shown on office maps: Notice is hereby given, that a lease of the said country will be granted to the above applicants unless objections are made to the same before Wednesday, the 2nd day of July next.

MONDAY, June 2, 1873, at noon.

RUN for Sale, by public Auction, at the Land Office, Invercargill, the pastoral lease for ten years of Run 395, Southland, Otago, known as the Pahi Run, containing about 3800 acres. Delivery at expiration of present lease, in April, 1874, purchaser to pay one year’s rent in advance. Lease sold subject to right of Government to take a portion for special settlement without compensation; upset price, £1 18s 4d per hundred acres, for the first thousand acres and 16s 8d for every hundred acres in addition.

THURSDAY, 22nd May, 1873.—5501 acres.

AGRICULTURAL LAND (CONICAL HILL STATION), WAIPAHEE AND GLENKENICH DISTRICTS, OPEN FOR APPLICATION.

THE above land being sections 1x, 2 to 28, block 8, Waipahee District, 4656 acres (from 200 to 300 each section); sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, block 10, Glenkenich, and 5, 6, and 7, block 12, Glenkenich, 845 acres (from 80 to 100 acres each section) will be open for application at the Land Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, the 22nd May, 1873, at £1 per acre.

In the event of more than one application being made for the same land on the same day, it will be put up for sale by auction, open to all bidders. Applications must be accompanied by a deposit of 2s for each acre of the land applied for.

ON THURSDAY, 22nd MAY, 1873.

5501 Acres of Agricultural Land (Conical Hill station), Waipahee and Glenkenich Districts, will be open for application at £1 per acre.

At the Land Office, Invercargill.

APPLICATIONS FOR LAND.

TO prevent misapprehension, persons desirous of applying to purchase or occupy Crown lands are informed that every application must be made at the Land Office of the district in which the land applied for is situated.

The land in Glenkenich and Waipahee districts, advertised open for application on the 22nd inst., must be applied for at Invercargill.

Forms of application may be had at any Land Office, or will be sent by post to any one if requested. Applications may be sent by post addressed to “The District Land Officer,” along with a draft in favor of the Receiver of Land Revenue for the deposit of 2s an acre of the land applied for.

NOTICE to applicants for unsurveyed land under “Otago Waste Land Act 1872.”

It is hereby notified to the applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that they have been declared to be the purchasers of the sections set opposite their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of those sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Invercargill on or before Wednesday, the 28th day of May, 1873, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled, and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.
