TENDERS

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for contract No. 714, 715, 716, 717, 718, 719, 720, 721," as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

CARTERS.—GAOL DUNEDIN.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Government Office, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 21st March, 1873, for Carting for half-year commencing on the 1st April next.

Gaol.

MILK.

TENDERS will be received at the Government Office, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 14th March, 1873, from parties willing to Supply Milk for the Dunedin Hospital and Lunatic Asylum, and, if required, for the Immigration Barracks and the Industrial School, until 31st December, 1874. Either party to have the power to terminate the contract at the end of 1873, by giving one month’s previous notice.

Forms of tender may be obtained at the Storekeeper’s Office.

PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN LAND OR CASH AT THE OPTION OF THE GOVERNMENT.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 25th March, 1873, for:

Contract No. 696.—Formation and Gravelling of 88 chains of road at the Fern Hills, Winton to Benmore.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Winton.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for Contract No. 696."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS for supplying the undermentioned Police Stations, and other Government Departments in the Districts after-mentioned with Forage, for the twelve months ending 31st March, 1874, will be received at the Government Buildings, Dunedin, until noon of Wednesday, 26th March, 1873:—

CORPORATION OF INVERCARGILL DEBENTURES.

AMENDED NOTICE.

SEALED TENDERS will be received up to 2 p.m. of Wednesday, the 26th March, 1873, for Seventy (70) Fifty Pound (£50) Debentures, to have a currency of twenty years from the date of issue, and bear interest at the rate of six per cent. per annum, payable half-yearly in Dunedin or Invercargill.

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Debentures."

The interest of the loan will be a first charge on the rates, and the Debentures will be redeemable by a sinking fund invested by trustees appointed by the Superintendent.

The money raised is to be expended on the drainage of the town and the formation of streets.

The rates for the financial year ending 19th April, 1872, amounted to £1046 9s 0d, of which £19 4s 0d remains unpaid. The total revenue for 1872 was £3002.

The rates for the year ending 19th April, 1873, amount to £1230.

The financial position of the Corporation is shown by the balance sheet, published in the ‘Provincial Government Gazette,’ of 15th January last.

SEPARATE Tenders

Separate Tenders will be received by the Seaside District Road Board, for cuttings, formation, and repairs, and also for the supply of 3-inch gauge metal at per cubic yard. Specifications may be seen, and work shown, by applying to the Chairman, Mr. Thomas Howorth, Walton Park, and to Mr. H. Graham, Boat Harbour. Tenders to be lodged with the Chairman, on or before Saturday, 8th March.

TENDERS wanted by the Peninsula Road Board for following works:—

North-east Harbour Sub-division.—For Ten (10) chains of walling at MacAndrew’s Bay; for six (6) chains of walling at Mr. Stuart’s; six (6) chains of walling at Mr. Campbell’s; putting in culverts, clearing of slips, and procuring two hundred (200) cubic yards metal for Beach Road; altering, forming and metalling portions of No. 1 Road, and forming and metalling No. 2.

Specifications for the Beach Road to be seen at Mr. Hooper’s; for Nos. 1 and 2, at Mr. A. Stuart’s. Works to be shown on the 22nd; meeting at Mr. Hooper’s at eleven o’clock, and at Mr. Rogers at one o’clock p.m.

Anderson’s Bay Sub-division.—For formation of District Road from Portobello Road to Lagoon.

Specifications to be seen at Mr. Somerville’s. Works to be shown by Messrs Somerville and Scott, on the 25th March, at eleven o’clock a.m.

Tomahawk Sub-division.—For forming, metalling, &c. Works to be shown on the 20th March by Messrs Matheson and Smaill. Specifications to be seen at the residence of the Clerk.

Tenders to be endorsed, "Tender Peninsula Road Board," and lodged with the Clerk not later than the 4th day of April, 1873.

The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

KAIKORAI DISTRICT ROAD.

TENDERS wanted 120 yards Metal, Abbotsford. Tenders must be sent in to Mr. C. Samson, butcher, not later than Wednesday evening, 12th March, at 6 p.m. Also tenders for surface metal.

TENDERS wanted 200 yards metal, Abbotsford. Tenders must be sent to Mr. Burr, Chairman, not later than Wednesday evening, 12th March, at 6 p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

on 1st April, a competent Schoolmaster for the Industrial School, Look-out point. Salary, £130, without board or lodging. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the Provincial Treasurer, Dunedin.

WANTED, a Sewing Mistress for the Hampden School. Salary: £35 per annum. Applications to be sent to the undersigned on or before the 17th March, 1873.
