and after the twenty-fourth day of January current, the complete part of "The Municipal Corporations Act 1867," numbered Part XIII, intituled "Government of Boroughs and Bye-Laws," shall extend and be applied to the said town of Palmerston.

MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF NASEBY.
Appointment of Hugh Wilson to prepare the Citizens' Roll for the incorporated town of Naseby.
WHEREAS the town of Naseby was, by Proclamation dated the eighth day of January current, and published in the Otago Government Gazette, No. 829, incorporated by the name of the "Corporation of the town of Naseby," and certain provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865" were by such Proclamation extended to and declared applicable to and within the Municipality thereby created: And whereas by the 117th section of the said Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865, it is amongst other things enacted that for the purposes of the first elections under the said Ordinance of Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors for any town or place to which the provisions of the said Ordinance, or any of them, should be extended as therein provided, the Superintendent of Otago for the time being should appoint some fit and proper person to prepare the Citizens' Roll for such town and places, the expense of which should be borne and paid by the Council of the town or place elected thereunder, for which any such Citizens' Roll should be prepared: And whereas Hugh Wilson, of Naseby, has been represented to me to be a fit and proper person to prepare the Citizens' Roll for the incorporated town of Naseby: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865," and of all other powers in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint
HENRY WIRGMAN ROBINSON, Esquire
to be the person to prepare the Citizens' Roll for the said incorporated town of Naseby.

WARRANT
Appointing an Officer for the revision of the Citizens' List and for other purposes in the incorporated town of Naseby, in the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS the town of Naseby has been incorporated under the provisions of the "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865": And whereas by the 113th section of the said Ordinance, it is amongst other things enacted that in cases where no special provision is made for the conduct of the first elections under the said Ordinance, it should be lawful for the Superintendent of Otago to appoint such and so many persons as might be necessary to perform any of the said acts in the said Ordinance, before required to be done by the Mayor, Councillors, Town Clerk, Collector, or other officers, before such officers could be appointed or elected under the provisions of the said Ordinance: And whereas by the 40th section of the said Ordinance the Mayor and Councillors of any town incorporated under the said Ordinance (in the said section called the Council) are constituted open courts for the revision of the Citizens' Lists and for hearing and determining the claims of the citizens thereof to be inserted in such Lists, and the objections of such citizens to any other citizen having his name retained thereon: And whereas it is expedient to appoint a fit and proper person to perform the acts required to be done by the Mayor and Councillors, as constituting Courts of Revision under the said 40th section of the said Ordinance, and to do the several other matters and things directed and required by the said Ordinance in the revision of the Citizens' List for the said incorporated town of Naseby: Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said "Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865," and of all other powers in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint

to perform the acts required to be done by the Council in the revision of the Citizens' List for the town of Naseby, and hearing and determining the claims of the citizens thereof to be inserted in such List, and the objections of such citizens to any other citizen having his name retained thereon.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
Under Section 1 of Regulation IV.
WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Gold Field, described in the Schedule hereto, is for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners' Rights in claims of the undernamed size:-
One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner's Right, provided that no Block Claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.
Given under my hand at Naseby, this 20th day of January, 1873.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at Hogburn, near Hamilton road, and comprising two acres, more or less, bounded on the north by Logan's paddock, 295 feet; on the south by Corbett's residence area, 295 feet; on the east by Dead Level tail race, 296 feet; and on the west by the Hamilton road, 296 feet.
PUBLIC NOTICE.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at Pleasant Flat, on the east side of Kyeburn river, and containing one acre more or less, bounded as follows: on the north and south by Crown lands 150 yards; on the east and west by Crown lands one hundred yards.
THE immediate attention of the Chairman of the District Road Boards is requested to the following letter, addressed to them on the 17th December last by the Provincial Treasurer:-
"Sir,--I have the honor to request that you will be good enough to inform me what amount is likely to be raised by the Board by rates prior to the 31st March, 1873, in order that I may be in a position to arrange for the distribution of the Subsidy voted by the General and Provincial Governments respectively."
