PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN LAND.
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 1st October, 1872, for Contract No. 667—Extension of Bluff Wharf.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Invercargill, and at Railway Office, Invercargill.
Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works tender for Contract No. 667.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
GREEN ISLAND Road Board.—Tenders wanted by above Board up till 23rd Sept., for erection of a Bridge over Kaikorai stream at Murray, Roberts & Co.’s fellmongery, Green Island. Plans, &c., can be seen with the undersigned. The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any Tender.—WILLIAM THOMSON, Clerk. Green Island, 2nd September, 1872.
CARTERS.—Tenders will be received at Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, the 20th September, 1872, from parties willing to do the Carting at Bell Hill, for the half-year commencing 1st October, 1872. Further particulars may be had at the Gaol.
PORTOBELLO Road Board.—Tenders required to fill the offices of Clerk and Collector, combined, at per annum, for the Portobello Road Board. The lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted. Applications to be sent in on or before Thursday, the 26th inst.
PORTOBELLO Road Board.—Tenders are required on or before Thursday, the 26th inst., from two applicants willing to fill together the duties of Valuators of all rateable property in the Portobello District. Applicants will please tender for a lump sum, or at per day, according to time occupied.
WANTED, a Schoolmistress for the Palmerston School; Salary, £85 per annum. Applications, with Testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned, on or before the 28th day of September, 1872.

KAIKORAI DISTRICT SCHOOL.—Applications, with Testimonials, will be received by the School Committee till Tuesday, 1st October next, from qualified persons for Schoolmaster and Schoolmistress, for Kaikorai District School. Master’s salary £100 and allowance for house rent from Government, and 60 per cent. of School Fees; Mistress’ Salary, £60 from Government and 20 per cent. of School Fees. School to be opened on the beginning of January, 1873. Expected attendance of pupils, from 150 to 200.—N. Y. A. WALES, Hon. Sec. to School Committee.
WANTED, a qualified Schoolmaster for the Cromwell School. Salary: £200 per annum. A good four-roomed residence and ½-acre of garden attached. Full information can be obtained by applying to the Chairman of the School Committee, Cromwell, or at the Education Office, Dunedin. Applications to be lodged with the Chairman of the School Committee, on or before the 7th day of October.

IMMIGRANTS’ PASSAGE MONEY.—Notice to Assisted Immigrants who arrived in the Province before the year 1869.
All immigrants who have arrived in the Province by ships prior to those referred to in the notice hereunder, and who have not paid their passage-money, are requested to do so at once by remitting same to me. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment. When necessary the time for payment will be extended.

Tenderers to state the amount of remuneration required, to furnish testimonials as to competency, and to be prepared to give security in terms of the Road Board Ordinance. Tenders to be addressed to “Chairman of Road Board, Highcliffe Schoolhouse,” and to be delivered not later than the 4th October, 1872. The lowest or any Tender not necessarily accepted.—Sept. 11, 1872.
