TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 17th September, 1872, for
Contract No 662—Metalling 40 chains of road Tokomairiro to Clutha, situate near end of Kaitangata road, and extending towards Stoney Creek.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Balclutha.
Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works Tender for Contract No 662."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

GREEN ISLAND Road Board.—Tenders wanted by above Board up till 23rd Sept., for erection of a Bridge over Kaikorai stream at Murray, Roberts & Co.’s fellmongery, Green Island. WAIKOUAITI Road District.—Applications will be received by the undersigned till noon of 14th September, marked "Clerk and Collector," from parties willing to act as such for the current year, stating remuneration required, and enclosing letter from some responsible individual, offering to become security for applicant. The lowest or any offer may not be accepted.—JOHN REID, Corner Bush, Merton.
WANTED, a Schoolmistress for the Palmerston School; Salary, £85 per annum. Applications, with Testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned, on or before the 28th day of September, 1872.—JOHN KEEN, Clerk School Committee. August 26, 1872.
KAIKORAI DISTRICT SCHOOL.—Applications, with Testimonials, will be received by the School Committee till Tuesday, 1st October next, from qualified persons for Schoolmaster and Schoolmistress, for Kaikorai District School. Master’s Salary, £100 and allowance for house rent from Government, and 60 per cent of School Fees; Mistress’ Salary, £60 from Government and 20 per cent of School Fees. School to be opened on the beginning of January, 1873. Expected attendance of pupils, from 150 to 200.—N. Y. A. WALES, Hon. Sec. to School Committee.
HALF-WAY BUSH Road District.—Wanted, a Clerk to act as Collector. Salary £40 a year. Also, Tenders for valuating the district and Tenders for an Engineer. Applications to be addressed to the Chairman of the Board on or before Wednesday, the 11th September.—GEORGE HEPBURN, Chairman.
TAIERI Road Board.—Wanted, a Clerk. Applications to be made in writing to the Chairman, Mr. GEORGE PRAIN, before the 11th September, at 1 p.m. East Taieri, August 28, 1872.
WAIPORI Road Board.—Applications are invited for the offices of Engineer and Inspector, Clerk and Collector, and Valuator for the above Board. Applications, stating names of proposed securities, to be addressed "Chairman, Waipori Road Board, Post Office, Lake Waipori," and to be lodged not later than noon of 14th September, 1872. The Board will not be bound to accept the lowest or any application.—WILLIAM DUFF, Chairman; Lake Waipori, 28th August, 1872.
IMMIGRATION MONEY.—Assisted Immigrants by the undernamed Ships are requested to forward to John Logan, Immigration Agent, Dunedin, the amount of their Passage Money. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment without further notice.
