NOTICE is hereby given, that a reward of Fifty Pounds will be paid by the Provincial Government of Otago for such information as will lead to the conviction of the person or persons by whom the fire was originated, by which the same was maliciously caused to the house of Arthur John Bamford, at Mornington, value £500, by which the same was totally destroyed.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WOOL-PACK AND SACK MANUFACTORY IN OTAGO.

THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Wool-packs and Sacks, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1000 as under—

On the erection of buildings and machinery to the value of at least £2000 ... £500.

On the production of Sacks or Wool-packs to a value of not less than £500 ... £250.

On the production of a further quantity of Sacks or Wool-packs to the value of not less than £1000 ... £250.

The cloth in each case to be produced by machinery permanently established in the Province, and to be manufactured either wholly or to a large extent from Phormium Tenax, or other indigenous plants, or from other material grown in the Province.

Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of October, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce sacks and wool-packs to the value of £1500 within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.


BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTORY.

THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Glass Bottles in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £300 as under—

On the erection of building and plant, of a value of not less than £500 ... £100.

On production of 100 gross of bottles ... £100.

On production of a further quantity of 200 gross ... £100.

Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, and should state the estimated cost of the works proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £250 to produce 500 gross of Bottles within two years from the date on which the tender is accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

NOTICE is hereby given, that John Humphrey, of Queenstown, has applied to withdraw his application for an Agricultural Lease of Sections 88 to 92, Block I, Shotover, and the Government have agreed to his request; the land is, therefore, now open for application under the Agricultural Lease Regulations.

Boundary Creek Bridge. The tender of Hugh Barclay for the above contract has been accepted for the sum of £394 15s 6d.

Contracts Nos. 656 and 657.—The tenders of White and Milligan for the above contracts for the respective sums of £422 2s 2d and £698 5s 6d have been accepted.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Cromwell.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 661.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Contract No. 659—Erection of Police Camp Buildings at Roxburgh.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Roxburgh.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 659.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 10th September, 1872, for:

Contract No. 660—Supply and Spreading of 2328 cubic yards road metal on road Dunedin to Portobello, situate between Princes street and Bay Horse Hotel.

Plans and Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 660.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


STATIONERY AND PRINTING.

Separate tenders will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Saturday, 21st September, 1872, for supply of Stationery and for Printing for Provincial Government during the year 1873.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Lands until noon of Monday, 7th October, for:

Contract No. 75—Trigonometrical and Topographical Survey of country between Ohau Lake and Mount Aspiring, and marking on the ground part of the boundary between Otago and Canterbury.

Tenders to be accompanied by a deposit of 5 per cent. of the estimated cost.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
