PUBLIC NOTICE.
Under Section 8, Regulation 22.
WHEREAS I am satisfied that, by reason of the inclemency of the weather, mining operations cannot conveniently be carried on in that portion of the Otago Gold Fields described in the Schedule hereto, during certain months: Now therefore I hereby declare that between the first day of June and the thirty-first day of August inclusive, in each and every year until further notice, all mining claims and privileges lawfully held and enjoyed within the said portion of the Otago Gold Field shall be protected within the meaning of Section 9 of Regulation 22 of the Otago Gold Fields Regulations.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Field within one mile on each side of the Earnscleugh River from its source to the Upper Gorge at Shepherd’s Flat.
PUBLIC NOTICE.
Under Section 1, Regulation IV.
WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portions of the Otago Gold Field described in the Schedule hereto, for the whole or the greater part of the same, are of inferior character as regards the value of the gold deposits: Now therefore I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:
One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner’s Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Field contained within sections 9 and 10, block II, Leaning Rock district.
All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, being a block of unsurveyed land, bounded on the north by sections 92, 112, and 109 of block II, Leaning Rock district; on the east by sections 46, 47, 48, and 49 of the said block; on the south by sections 27, 28, 29, and 30, and part of sections 8 and 26 of the said block; and on the west by sections 97, 95, and 110 of the said block.
The undermentioned persons are licensed to Depasture Cattle within Jacob’s River Hundred during the current year:—

VACCINATION.—By Appointment of His Excellency the Governor, ROBT. BURNS, Esquire, Surgeon, will attend at his Office, Princes street, Dunedin, every Tuesday and Friday, at 1 p.m., and at the Court House, Port Chalmers, on the second Wednesday of every month, at 1 p.m., to Vaccinate, gratuitously, all persons who may then appear and desire to be Vaccinated, or whom he may be required to Vaccinate. He will likewise distribute, gratuitously, pure lymph to the Medical Profession.
BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTORY.
THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Glass Bottles in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £300, as under:—
On the erection of building and plant, of a value of not less than £500—£100.
On production of 100 gross of bottles—£100.
On production of a further quantity of 200 gross—£100.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, and should state the estimated cost of the works proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £250 to produce 500 gross of Bottles within two years from the date on which the tender is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.
BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PAPER MANUFACTORY.
THE Provincial Government being desirous of promoting the introduction and establishment of a Paper Manufactory in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise; and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1500 as under—such bonus to be in addition to a bonus of £2500 offered by the General Government for the first 100 tons of printing paper produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Colony:—
On the erection of machinery of a value of not less than £3000—£750.
On production of 50 tons of paper, of a value of not less than £600—£750.
On production of a further quantity of 50 tons of a value of not less than £750—£750.
The paper to be produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Province.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of July, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce 150 tons of paper within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.
NOTICE to Local Road Boards.—The following Resolution passed by the Provincial Council on the 15th May, 1872, is published for the information and guidance of Local Road Boards:—
“That copies of all alterations of roads made by Road Boards, be forwarded to the respective Survey Offices.”
THE Statutory Half-yearly Meeting of the Education Board will be held at the Government Buildings, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 10th day of July, 1872, at noon.
